Thomas Knyvett, 7th Baron Berners
Thomas Knyvett, 7th Baron Berners (1655 or 1656 – 28 September 1693) was an England, English peer and Tory politician. The son of John Knyvett, 6th Baron Berners, Sir John Knyvett and Mary Bedingfield, he was baptised in Darsham in Suffolk in February 1655 or 1656. In 1673, Knyvett succeeded his father de jure as Baron Berners. He was Member of Parliament (MP) for Dunwich (UK Parliament constituency), Dunwich from 1685 to 1687 and for Eye (UK Parliament constituency), Eye from 1689 to 1690. Knyvett died unmarried and was buried in Ashwellthorpe in Norfolk on 30 September 1693. With his death the barony fell into abeyance, but was terminated in 1711 in favour of his sister Katherine Bokenham, 8th Baroness Berners, Katherine Bokenham. Roger North (17th Century)
Roger North, KC (3 September 16531 March 1734) was an English lawyer, biographer, and amateur musician. Life North was the sixth son of Dudley North, 4th Baron North and his wife Anne Montagu and was the brother of Francis North and Dudley North. He was born in Tostock, Suffolk. He attended Bury St Edmunds Grammar School and then Thetford Grammar School from 1663, followed by Jesus College, Cambridge and the Middle Temple. He was called to the bar in 1674, and was Steward of the Diocese of Canterbury in 1678. He became King's Counsel and a Bencher of Middle Temple in 1682. North developed a good practice at the bar, helped by his elder brother Francis who became Lord Chancellor. Henry Hyde, 2nd Earl of Clarendon called him "one of only two honest lawyers I ever knew". During the Popish Plot, while Francis succumbed to the prevailing anti-Catholic hysteria, Roger remained detached and sceptical. John Rous
John Rous (21 May 1702 – 3 April 1760) was a privateer and then an officer of the Royal Navy. He served during King George's War and the French and Indian War. Rous was also the senior naval officer on the Nova Scotia station during Father Le Loutre's War (1749–1755). Rous' daughter Mary married Richard Bulkeley (governor) and is buried in the Old Burying Ground (Halifax, Nova Scotia). Henry Poley
Henry Poley (5 January 1654 – 7 August 1707) was an English lawyer and Member of Parliament. He was the son of Sir Edmund Poley (1619–1671) who was MP for Bury St Edmunds, and brother of Edmund Poley the diplomat. Poley matriculated at Jesus College, Cambridge in 1672, and graduated B.A. in 1673, having been a fellow commoner since 1670. He was then a Fellow of the college to 1675. He entered Gray's Inn in 1669, and the Middle Temple in 1672, being called to the bar in 1678. He represented Eye between 1689 and 1695, West Looe between 1703 and 1705, and Ipswich Ipswich () is a port town and borough in Suffolk, England, of which it is the county town. Sir Robert Rich, 2nd Baronet
Sir Robert Rich, 2nd Baronet (c. 1648 – 1 October 1699) was an English Whig politician. Rich was the second son of Nathaniel Rich of Stondon and his wife Elizabeth Hampden, married his distant cousin, Mary Rich, and inherited her father's baronetcy by special remainder. By Mary, he had four sons and several daughters. His sons were Charles, Robert, Nathaniel, and Cholmondeley, of whom the first two inherited his baronetcy in succession. Rich was a Whig Member of Parliament for Dunwich and a Lord of the Admiralty during the reign of William III. He was active in speaking on naval affairs in the House. On 5 May 1692, he was appointed Vice-Admiral of Suffolk, an office he held until a few days before his death, when he was replaced by his eldest son Charles.
