Thomas J. Mahon
Thomas J. Mahon (1884 – September 24, 1927) was an American politician and jurist. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1911 to 1913 and judge of the Milwaukee County Civil Court from 1924 to his death in 1927. Early life Thomas J. Mahon was born in 1884 in Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Mahon had poliomyelitis during childhood and was reliant on a wheelchair. He attended East Side High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mahon then received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. His thesis at the University of Wisconsin was about the Torrens land transfer system. He received a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Career In 1908, Mahon moved to Eland, Shawano County, Wisconsin where he practiced law. While practicing law in Eland, Mahon represented Shawano County in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1911 to 1913 and was a Republican. Meeme is a town in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,538 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated communities of Meeme, Osman, School Hill, and Spring Valley are located within the town. Its Menominee name is ''Omīnīw'' which means "pigeon". Francis McGovern
Francis Edward McGovern (January 21, 1866 – May 16, 1946) was an American lawyer and politician from Wisconsin. He served as the 22nd Governor of Wisconsin from 1911 to 1915. In 1911 especially he sponsored a major series of progressive achievements through the legislature. Originally a close ally of Senator Robert M. La Follette, the two progressive leaders held an uneasy truce for McGovern's reelection in 1912. The two became bitter enemies in 1913-1916 and McGovern lost his bids for office and retired from poliitics. Early life McGovern was born in Elkhart Lake, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
