Thomas Hugues
Thomas Hugues (born 11 May 1966) is a French journalist, producer and television host. Early life He joined the Institut d'Études Politiques of Bordeaux in 1983. During his course, he did an internship for the newspaper ''Sud Ouest''. In 1987, he entered the Lille Ecole Supérieure de Journalisme. Career In 1989, he became a script editor for TF1. In November 1994, he presented the news on the LCI channel, from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. In the same year, he joined Jean-Pierre Pernaut on the 1:00 pm news on TF1. In October 1997, he was promoted to Head of News. In the summer of 1999, he replaced Claire Chazal on TF1 for the week-end news. The same year, he presented a weekend of mobilization against AIDS, ''48h Contre le sida'', and a prime-time ''Défense d'entrer'', with Valérie Benaïm. 7 D'or
The ''7 d'Or'' or ''Sept d'Or'' ( French for "Seven of Gold" or "Golden Seven") was a French television production award (similar in nature to the Emmy Awards), presented by '' Télé 7 Jours'' (a weekly French magazine with listings of TV shows). The awards were presented in the fall of each year from 1985 to 2003 (no awards were presented in 1992, 1998 and 2002) during a televised "Night of the 7 d'Or" awards ceremony (1988 and 2003 were not televised). The first ceremonies took place in Le Lido in Paris. Since 2003, several attempts have been made to bring back the "7 d'Or" awards. In 2005, some sources announced a possible return of the awards, produced by Endemol; in 2008, a second return was mentioned on Direct 8, but this project didn't come to fruition; in late November 2011, the editor in chief of ''Télé 7 Jours'' announced that negotiations were taking place with France Télévisions to try to bring back the ceremonies in 2012. France 5 () is a French free-to-air public television channel, part of the France Télévisions group. Principally featuring educational programming, the channel's motto is ''la chaîne de la connaissance et du savoir'' (the knowledge network). 13th Street (France: 13ème Rue, Spain: Calle 13, Hungary: Utca 13, and Poland: 13 Ulica) is a television channel specializing in action, suspense and police procedural programs and movies, mainly from the Universal Pictures and Television libraries. It is owned by NBCUniversal and was inaugurated in France in 1997, quickly adding local versions across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Russia. The channel changed its name to ''13th Street Universal'' on 13 October 2010. The additional "Universal" notation was dropped in March 2017 as part of a reimage effort. France Inter () is a major French public radio channel and part of Radio France. It is a "generalist" station, aiming to provide a wide national audience with a full service of news and spoken-word programming, both serious and entertaining, liberally punctuated with an eclectic mix of music. It is broadcast on FM from a nationwide network of transmitters, as well as via the internet. The channel announced during 2016 that it would discontinue transmissions from the Allouis longwave transmitter on 162 kHz with effect from 1 January 2017, thereby saving approximately €6 million per year.
