Thomas Hill (basketball)
Thomas Lionel Hill Jr. (born August 31, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'5" shooting guard, Hill played at Duke University from 1989 to 1993, winning two NCAA Championships (1991 and 1992). His teammates at Duke included Grant Hill (no relation), Christian Laettner, and Bobby Hurley. Thomas Hill received Third Team All- ACC honors in 1991,1992, 1993 and was a team captain during his senior season. He played in 141 career games for Duke, 6th on their all-time list as of March 28, 2010; directly behind Jon Scheyer, and tied with Brian Davis. After graduating, Hill was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the 2nd round (#39 pick overall) of the 1993 NBA draft. Hill never played an NBA regular season game but he did play in preseason games where he scored a high of 14. Thomas Hill (athlete)
Thomas Lionel "Tom" Hill (born November 17, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American former athlete, who mainly competed in the 110 metre hurdles. Competitive career Hill was among the world's best high hurdlers in the early 1970s and ranked as the number one in the event in the world in 1970. He was on the June 1970 cover of '' Track and Field News.'' He competed for the United States in the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany, where he won the bronze medal in the men's 110 metre hurdles event. Hill ran track for Arkansas State University where his best finish at the NCAA Championships was a second place in 1972. He was the 1970 NCAA Indoor Champion for 60 yard hurdles. After graduating, Hill completed his ROTC active duty obligation serving as assistant track coach at the United States Military Academy at West Point while still competing in the hurdles. 1993 NBA Draft
The 1993 NBA draft took place on June 30, 1993, at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The draft had some talented players at the top, but injuries and personal problems hurt many of them. Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Allan Houston, and Jamal Mashburn were All-Stars whose careers were cut short by injuries. Isaiah Rider and Vin Baker showed great potential but were plagued by personal problems. Bobby Hurley's career was derailed by a car wreck in December of his rookie year. The mid-to-late first round (starting with pick 13) was littered with players that failed to make any significant impact, with the exception of three-time NBA champion Sam Cassell. Brian Davis (basketball)
Brian Keith Davis (born June 21, 1970) is an American former basketball player and businessman. A 6'7" guard-forward, Davis played college basketball at Duke Blue Devils and was a member of the 1991 and 1992 national championship teams. After graduation, Davis was drafted by the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA) but played in the Ligue Nationale de Basketball with Élan Béarnais Pau-Orthez during the 1992–93 season. He made his NBA debut with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 1993–94 season. Davis played in 68 NBA games, averaged 5.5 minutes per game, and scored a total of 131 career points (1.9 per game). Jonathan James Scheyer (, born August 24, 1987) is an American basketball coach and former professional player who is the head coach for the Duke Blue Devils of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Scheyer led his high school team to an Illinois state basketball championship as a high school All-American, and was the captain of the 2009–10 Duke Blue Devils that won the 2010 NCAA Basketball Championship, as a college All-American.
