Thomas Hall (railway Engineer)
Richard Thomas Hall (31 May 1823 – 21 August 1889) was a British railway engineer. Early life In 1839 he became pupil of his uncle, civil engineer Richard Thomas. After his pupilage in 1844 Thomas Hall was employed by civil engineer Joseph Locke. Railway career In 1848 he was appointed engineer and superintendent of the gauge Redruth and Chasewater Railway in Cornwall for the next 20 years. South Africa In 1868, the Cape Copper Mining Company hired Thomas Hall to survey and construct the narrow gauge Namaqualand Railway in the Cape Colony. In March 1875, one year before the completion of the railway, Thomas Hall accepted the appointment of railway engineer to the South African Republic and started surveying the gauge Pretoria to Delagoa Bay railway of the Netherlands-South African Railway Company. When the South African Republic became British territory in 1878, he became maintenance engineer and retired from government service in 1886. He died on 21 August 1889. ...

Thomas Hall (North Dakota Politician)
Thomas Hall (June 6, 1869 – December 4, 1958) was a United States Republican politician who served in the United States House of Representatives. He also served as the North Dakota Secretary of State for two different periods, each lasting 12 years. Biography Thomas Hall was born in Cliff Mine, Michigan. He came to North Dakota with his parents in 1883, and was educated in Stutsman County schools and Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.North Dakota Blue Book, 1954 He served as the Secretary of State of North Dakota from 1913 to 1924. He was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives from North Dakota to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of George M. Young and served from November 4, 1924 to March 3, 1933. He was again Secretary of State of North Dakota from 1943 until 1954, when he retired. Thomas Hall, Exeter
In 2011 the Halls of Residence for the University of Exeter in the city of Exeter, Devon, England, have just over 5,000 student residential places, including 3,426 in self-catering purpose-built flats and houses and 1,656 in catered accommodation. The first accommodation for students was in the city centre during the first years of the 20th century, and the first purpose-built hall was Mardon Hall, opened in 1933. Early history The university developed from the 19th century Royal Albert Memorial College, and by 1902 it was apparent that accommodation was needed for the female students and a house in Castle Street, Exeter was being privately run as a hostel for them. In 1906 the city council bought the house, extended it and renamed it as Bradninch Hall. Catering for 78 women students, it was the college's first hall of residence. Thomas Skarrat Hall (6 December 1836 – 14 June 1903) was a British bank manager and mine director in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. Early life Thomas Skarratt Hall was born on 6 December 1836 in Kington, Herefordshire, England, the son of Walter Hall and Elizabeth Carleton Skarratt. Banking career Hall came to Australia in 1854. He took up his residence in Rockhampton in 1863 and for some time held the position of accountant in the Rockhampton branch of the Australian Joint Stock Bank. From there, he went to Clermont to manage the bank's business, but came back to Rockhampton early in 1866 to manage the Rockhampton branch. Some years after he was transferred to Goulburn, New South Wales. Thomas Ramsay Hall (2 January 1879 – 15 December 1950) was an architect practicing in Brisbane, Australia, during the first half of the twentieth century and was involved in the design and construction of numerous major buildings in South East Queensland including the Queensland Heritage Register listed Brisbane City Hall. Life Thomas Ramsay Hall was born on 2 January 1879 and was the son of John R Hall, one of Brisbane's early architects, and his third wife Charlotte, née Whiteway. Thomas was the younger half-brother of Francis Richard Hall who was the oldest practicing architect in Australia at the time of his own death in 1939. Thomas Young Hall was an internationally acclaimed mining engineer and coal mine owner. A native of Tyneside, he was a well-known figure in Newcastle in the mid-nineteenth century. Born in Greenside on 25 October 1802, his father, James Hall, was a mining engineer, manager of the Folly Pitt, and agent to several leading coal mine owners including the Dunns, G. Silvertop, Capt. Blackett, W. P. Wrightson, P. E. Townley, and John Buddle. Thomas Victor Hall (T. Victor Hall; May 30, 1879 – 1965) was an American illustrator, painter and sculptor. Biography Hall was born in Rising Sun, Indiana, 1879. He attended the Cincinnati Art Academy in the early 1900s where he studied with Frank Duveneck. Later he moved to Peekskill, New York and pursued a career as an illustrator. In 1919 he joined Louis C. Pedlar, Inc. Pedlar initiated the Art Director's Club in 1920.
