Thomas George Wilson
Sir Thomas George Wilson (March 27, 1876 – March 15, 1958) was an Australian obstetrician and gynaecologist. He was a founding fellow of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and State Nurses Registration Board of South Australia. Early life Generally knows as George, Wilson was born in Armidale in 1876, the fourth child of Charles Wilson, an Irish-Australian politician, and his wife Annie (née McBride) who was also Irish born. Wilson was educated at New England Grammar School and The University of Sydney, graduating from his undergraduate studies in 1899 and his medical degree in 1904, though qualifying as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, in 1901. Armidale
Armidale is a city in the Northern Tablelands, New South Wales, Australia. Armidale had a population of 24,504 as of June 2018. Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. It is the administrative centre for the Northern Tablelands region. It is approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane at the junction of the New England Highway and Waterfall Way. Geography Armidale is on the banks of Dumaresq Creek, in the Northern Tablelands in the New England region about midway between Sydney and Brisbane at an altitude (980 m AHD) ranging from 970 metres at the valley's floor to 1,110 metres above sea level at the crests of the hills. First Australian Imperial Force
The First Australian Imperial Force (1st AIF) was the main expeditionary force of the Australian Army during the First World War. It was formed as the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) following Britain's declaration of war on Germany on 15 August 1914, with an initial strength of one infantry division and one light horse brigade. The infantry division subsequently fought at Gallipoli between April and December 1915, with a newly raised second division, as well as three light horse brigades, reinforcing the committed units. After being evacuated to Egypt, the AIF was expanded to five infantry divisions, which were committed to the fighting in France and Belgium along the Western Front in March 1916. Royal Adelaide Golf Club
The Royal Adelaide Golf Club (often referred to as Seaton) is a private Australian golf club located in the Adelaide suburb of Seaton, northwest of the city centre. The links at Seaton has been the venue for many international and interstate matches and championships. Royal Adelaide has hosted the Australian Open nine times, most recently in 1998 when Greg Chalmers took home the trophy, carding an even-par 288. The Women's Australian Open was first played at the course in December 1994, won by Annika Sörenstam, and returned in February 2017 where it was won by Jang Ha-na. Trinity Church (also known as Holy Trinity Church Adelaide, is an Australian evangelical Anglican Church of Australia, Anglican church located at 88 North Terrace, Adelaide, North Terrace in the city of Adelaide, South Australia.
