Thomas Falvey (Wisconsin)
Thomas Falvey (April 21, 1828January 16, 1875) was an Irish American businessman and Democratic politician. He was the 16th mayor of Racine, Wisconsin, and represented Racine in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1855 and 1856. Biography Born in Clare, County Clare, Ireland, Falvey emigrated to the United States with his mother in 1833 and settled in Little Falls, New York where he worked as a moulder. Falvey then moved to Fulton New York. In 1851, Falvey moved to Racine, Wisconsin and was in the farm implement business. Racine ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located on the shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Root River. Racine is situated 22 miles (35 km) south of Milwaukee and approximately 60 miles (100 km) north of Chicago. It is the principal city of the US Census Bureau's Racine metropolitan area (consisting only of Racine County). The Racine metropolitan area is, in turn, counted as part of the Milwaukee combined statistical area. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city had a population of 77,816, making it the 5th largest city in Wisconsin.
