Thomas Edgar (volleyball)
Thomas Edgar (born 21 June 1989) is an Australian volleyball player. He competed for Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Career He began his career in Queensland. In the 2011–2012 season he played for the Italian Serie A2 club, Volley Corigliano. In the following season, Edgar transferred to Serie A1 club Sir Safety Perugia. In 2013 he moved to South Korea to play for LIG Insurance Greaters. In 2015 he played in the Chinese Volleyball League for Beijing. Thomas has been the captain of the team since 2015. On 12 August 2022, he signed a one-year contract with Galatasaray, one of the Turkish Men's Volleyball League teams. 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship
The 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship was the twentieth staging of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF). The tournament was held in Tehran, Iran from 13 to 21 September 2019. Top eight teams which had not yet qualified to the 2020 Summer Olympics qualified for the 2020 Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. The receiving team must not let the ball be grounded within their court. The Turkish Men's Volleyball League, officially called the Efe League (Turkish: Efeler Ligi), is the highest professional men's volleyball league in Turkey. Chinese Volleyball League
Chinese Volleyball Super League, often abbreviated to CVL (abbreviation remain unchanged), are the pre-eminent men's and women's professional volleyball leagues in China. It was founded in 1996 as the Chinese Volleyball League and is organized by the Chinese Volleyball Association (CVA), operating with China National Sports Group (CNSG). The league was rebranded to the Chinese Volleyball Super League when it became fully professional in 2017. The champions qualify for the Asian Men's and Women's Club Volleyball Championships. The women's league normally starts in November and ends in March of the following year, while the men's league starts in October and ends in February of the following year, lasting for about four months.
