Thomas F. Donnelly (1 January 1874 – 9 October 1948) was a Liberal Party of Canada, Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in New Carlisle, Quebec and became a physician, principal and teacher. Donnelly attended Bishop's University and McGill University, attaining a Masters of Arts degree. For three years, he was principal for the high school in Lennoxville, and taught for another three years at Westmount Academy. He was first elected to Parliament at the Willow Bunch (electoral district), Willow Bunch riding in the 1925 Canadian federal election, 1925 general election then re-elected there in 1926 Canadian federal election, 1926 and 1930 Canadian federal election, 1930. Thomas Donnelly (1764–1835) was Sergeant-at-Arms of the New York State Assembly from 1806 to 1813, and from 1814 to 1817. Biography He was born in 1764. His parents were married in Trinity Church, Manhattan. At the outbreak of the revolution, his family was forced to move away from Manhattan because his father Peter was an outspoken well known patriot (Sons of Liberty). They bought a tavern in Newburgh, New York. Peter Donnelly was a Minuteman in the Militia. Newburgh was later the location of George Washington's headquarters from 1781 to 1782. At the age of 14, Thomas Donnelly fought in the American Revolutionary War as an express rider messenger for Washington. His rank later was private in the regular army. His pension papers are at the national archives. Thomas Donnelly married Ruth Pettinger (1768–1838). Their daughter Hester Donnelly married Ulysses F. Doubleday (1792–1866). Thomas Charles Donnelly (October 13, 1933 – April 1, 1997) was a provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1975 to 1979 sitting with the governing Progressive Conservative caucus. He also served as Deputy Commissioner for Alberta during the 1986 World Expo in Vancouver, British Columbia. Thomas Mathew Donnelly (born 1 October 1981) was a rugby union player who played for Montpellier in the Top 14. He also made 15 appearances for the All Blacks since 2009 and played for Otago Rugby Football Union. He moved into a coaching career at Otago from 2017. Playing career Provincial rugby Born in Rotorua, Donnelly moved south in 2000 to attend the University of Otago, and made his debut for Otago in 2002. He quickly established himself as a fixture at lock for the province, and by 2005 was one of the standout players in the provincial championship, forming a dynamic partnership with James Ryan. Although injuries and international duty have limited his availability for Otago, he remained a fixture in the squad, captaining the team for a stretch in 2007 in place of an injured Craig Newby. Tommy Donnelly is an Irish former footballer who played for Drumcondra, Shamrock Rovers and Ireland. When Donnelly played as an international there were, in effect, two Ireland teams, chosen by two rival associations. Both associations, the Northern Ireland - based IFA and the Irish Free State - based FAI claimed jurisdiction over the whole of Ireland and selected players from the whole island. Donnelly was one of several players born in Northern Ireland who benefited from the FAI's attempts to establish their all-Ireland influence. He made 2 appearances and scored 1 goal for the FAI XI.
