Thomas Dickson (athlete)
Thomas Dickson (born 8 July 1974) is a retired sprint (running), sprinter from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines who specialized in the 400 metres. At the 1996 Summer Olympics, he participated in the Athletics at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's 4 × 400 metres relay, 4 x 400 metres relay. The relay team, consisting of Eswort Coombs, Dickson, Eversley Linley, and Erasto Sampson, set a national record there with 3:06.52 minutes. Dickson's personal best time in the 400 metres is 46.94 seconds, achieved in 1998. References

Thomas Scott Dickson (1 November 1885 – 25 January 1935) was a Scottish politician and journalist, who served as a Member of Parliament for two terms. Born in Cleland, Dickson worked variously in a shop, a quarry, a mine and a steel works. In 1905, he became a journalist, serving as a reporter for ''The Scotsman'', then rising to become assistant editor of ''Forward''. He also joined the National Union of Journalists, and served as its president in 1925–26.The Times, 8 December 1923 Dickson joined the Labour Party, and won election to Lanark County Council, serving for four years. Thomas Dixson (also Thomas Dickson, c. May 3, 1733 – November 8, 1809) was a British colonial militiaman and politician serving in Canada. Early life The year and location of Thomas Dixson's birth is not clear. As a young child, the Dixsons moved to Norwich, Connecticut. French and Indian War During the French and Indian War, Dixson moved to Fort Cumberland, Nova Scotia, soon after, and served as a militiaman in the capture of Fort Beauséjour in 1755. Dixson also served with Amherst at Montreal in 1760 and with Monckton in Havana in 1762. American Revolution In 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, a band of revolutionaries led by Jonathan Eddy attempted to capture Fort Cumberland (Fort Beauséjour) as part of an effort to provoke Nova Scotia into joining the revolution against British control of the colonies. Thomas Dickson (antiquary)
Thomas Dickson (1825–1904) was a Scottish antiquary, geneaologist and philanthropist. He was Curator of the Historical Department of General Register House in Edinburgh. Life He was born in Edinburgh in 1825 one of seven children of Thomas Dickson (1803-1872) and his wife, Janet Wilhelmina Mackie. He initially trained as a minister of the Free Church of Scotland, but a throat infection damaged his voice, rendering him unable to preach. In 1859 he obtained an appointment as Principal Assistant in the Advocates Library in Edinburgh. In 1867 he succeeded Joseph Robertson as Curator of Register House in Edinburgh. In 1886 he was awarded an honorary doctorate (LLD) from Edinburgh University. In 1890 he was living at 26 Stafford Street in Edinburgh's West End. Dr Thomas Elder Dickson PSSA FRSE (26 August 1899 – 31 March 1978) was a Scottish artist operational through the 20th century. He was also Vice-Principal of the Edinburgh College of Art from 1947 to 1968. He was President of the Society of Scottish Artists 1946 to 1950. Life He was born on 26 August 1899. He attended Barrhead High School. In 1916, during the First World War he joined the Royal Flying Corps (later the RAF). After the war he attended the University of Glasgow graduating with an MA. Moving to Edinburgh he gained a PhD in 1936 from the University of Edinburgh. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 1940. Thomas Alexander Dickson
Thomas Alexander Dickson PC (12 October 1833 – 17 June 1909) was an Irish Liberal Party politician. He represented a series of Irish constituencies as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Dickson was elected to Westminster at the general election in 1874 as MP for Dungannon in County Tyrone, and re-elected at the 1880 general election. His re-election was declared void on 10 June 1880 following a petition from the losing candidate, Colonel Knox. His son, James Dickson won the seat at the subsequent by-election with an increased majority. He was returned to Parliament the following year in a by-election for the County Tyrone constituency, and held that seat until the Tyrone constituency was divided at the 1885 general election. Thomas Law Dickson
Thomas Law Dickson (ca 1769 – after 1810) was a farmer, judge and political figure in Nova Scotia. He represented Amherst Township in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1802 to 1806. His surname also appears as Dixon. He was the son of Thomas Dixson and Catherine Weatherhead (or Weathered). He was elected to the assembly in an 1802 by-election held following the death of Thomas Lusby. In 1810, he was named judge in the Inferior Court of Common Pleas. Thomas Dickson (Upper Canada Politician)
Thomas Dickson (ca. 1775 – January 22, 1825) was a businessman and political figure in Upper Canada. He was born in Dumfries, Scotland around 1775. When his father's business encountered financial hardship, Thomas and his brothers travelled to Upper Canada to seek work with their cousin Robert Hamilton. In 1793, Dickson opened his own shop in Fort Erie to supply goods to the military and fur traders. In 1796, he relocated to Queenston. In 1800, he was named justice of the peace in the Niagara District. In 1803, Dickson became customs collector at Queenston. Beginning in 1804, he operated a ferry between Queenston and Lewiston, New York. In 1812, he was elected to the 6th Parliament of Upper Canada representing the 3rd riding in Lincoln. During the War of 1812, he served with the Lincoln Militia, becoming lieutenant-colonel. He was wounded at the Battle of Chippawa in 1814.
