Thomas Cruise (footballer)
Thomas Daniel Cruise (born 9 March 1991) is an English former professional footballer who played as a left back. He has played in the Football League for Carlisle United and Torquay United. He is a product of the Arsenal Academy who came to prominence during 2008–09 FA Youth Cup. Club career Cruise was born in Islington, Greater London. He joined in and made his debut for Arsenal F.C. Reserves in November 2007. Through Arsenal Academy, Cruise was a member of the FA Youth Cup winning team in 2008–09. On 9 December 2009, with Arsenal having qualified for the knockout stage of the 2009–10 UEFA Champions League as winners of Group H, manager Arsène Wenger played a number of youth players in the final group match against Olympiacos. Cruise started the match, giving him his first and only senior appearance for the club, playing the whole game. On 3 November 2010, he joined League One club Carlisle United on loan. The 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the 18th FIFA U-20 World Cup. Colombia hosted the tournament between 29 July and 20 August 2011, with matches being played in eight cities. The tournament was won by Brazil who claimed their fifth title. At a FIFA Executive Committee meeting held in Sydney on 26 May 2008, Colombia beat the only other candidate country, Venezuela, for the right to organize the U-20 World Cup. It was suggested by the then-Vice President of Colombia Francisco Santos Calderón that it was needed to withdraw from the race with Brazil to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup so the nation could concentrate on hosting the "best possible games". In an inspection tour of development works in March 2010, Jack Warner, then the vice president of FIFA, said that the completion of this tournament could provide Colombia with a launch pad to become a possible host for the 2026 World Cup. The UEFA European Under-19 Championship, or simply UEFA Under-19 Championship or the UEFA Euro U-19, is an annual football competition contested by the European men's under-19 national teams of the member associations of UEFA. 2008 UEFA European Under-17 Championship
The final tournament of the 2008 UEFA European Under-17 Championship was the 26th UEFA European Under-17 Championship, UEFA's premier football tournament for players under the age of 17. The tournament was held in Turkey from 4 to 16 May 2008. Players born after 1 January 1991 were eligible to participate in this competition. Qualification Two rounds of qualifying were held in order to determine the seven teams to join the hosts, Turkey, at the final tournament. The qualifying round, held from 14 September to 28 October 2007, divided the 52 remaining UEFA nations into 13 groups of four. The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league.
