Sir Thomas Chamberlain, 1st Baronet
Sir Thomas Chamberlayne, 1st Baronet (died 1643), of Wickham, Oxfordshire supported the Royalist cause in the English Civil War. He was Sheriff of Oxfordshire in 1643. Biography Thomas Chamberlayne was the son and heir of Sir Thomas Chamberlayne, one of the Justices of the Court of King's Bench, and his first wife Elizabeth, daughter of Sir George Fermor, of Easton Neston, Northamptonshire. He succeeded his father in September 1625. He supported the Royalist cause and was created a baronet, on 4 February 1643. He was Sheriff of Oxfordshire in that year. He died (during his Shrievalty and a few months after receiving his Baronetcy) on 6 October 1643. Sir Thomas Chamberlain, 2nd Baronet
Sir Thomas Chamberlayne, 2nd Baronet (c. 1635–1682) of Wickham and of Northbrooke, Oxfordshire,was the son of Sir Thomas Chamberlayne, 1st Baronet, and probably inherited the baronetcy on the death of his father on 6 October 1643. The title (one conferred after 4 January 1642) being void under the Act of Parliament (4 February 1652) then in force, on 6 October 1657 he accepted another baronetcy from the Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell, to whose Attorney General, Edmund Prideaux he was son-in-law. Thomas Chamberlain (soldier)
Thomas Davee Chamberlain (April 29, 1841 – August 12, 1896) was the Lieutenant Colonel of the 20th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War, the brother of Union general Joshua L. Chamberlain, the Colonel of the 20th Maine Infantry. Early life Thomas D. Chamberlain was born in Brewer, Maine, the youngest of five children. Young Tom grew up on the family farm in Brewer with his four older siblings: Joshua Lawrence (born in 1828); Horace Beriah (1834); Sarah Brastow (1836); and John Calhoun (1838). Their upbringing seems to have been strict and religious but also loving. Thomas was a mischievous and likable boy—-his brother called him a "little rogue"—-and, as the baby of the family, he was his mother's favorite. Thomas was the only son not to attend college. Thomas Chrowder Chamberlin (; September 25, 1843 – November 15, 1928) was an American geologist and educator. In 1893 he founded the ''Journal of Geology'', of which he was editor for many years. Biography Chamberlin was born September 25, 1843, in Mattoon, Illinois. When he was three years old his family moved north to near Beloit, Wisconsin. His father was a Methodist circuit minister and farmer. He attended a preparatory academy before entering Beloit College, where he received a classical education in Greek and Latin, while becoming interested in natural science. While a student at Beloit he directed a church choir and participated in athletics and debate. After graduation from Beloit College in 1866, Chamberlin worked for two years as a teacher and later principal in a high school near Beloit. He was married to Alma Wilson in 1867. Appleby was a United Kingdom constituencies, parliamentary constituency in the county of Westmorland in England. It existed for two separate periods: from 1295 to 1832, and from 1885 to 1918. Appleby was enfranchised as parliamentary borough in 1295, and abolished by the Great Reform Act of 1832. ''The Killer Angels'' is a 1974 historical novel by Michael Shaara that was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1975. The book depicts the three days of the Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War, and the days leading up to it: June 29, 1863, as the troops of both the Union and the Confederacy move into battle around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and July 1, July 2, and July 3, when the battle was fought.
