Thomas Böttger
Thomas Böttger (born 1957 in Neustrelitz, Bezirk Neubrandenburg) is a German composer and pianist. Life From 1975 to 1980, Böttger studied composition and piano at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler", Berlin College of Music "Hanns Eisler". From 1980 to 1981, he studied with Tadeusz Baird at the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. From 1981 to 1983, he was a master's student of Ruth Zechlin at the Akademie der Künste, Academy of the Arts, Berlin. In 1983 his composition ''Rilke-Lieder'' was first performed at the Warsaw Autumn. Since 1986 he lives in Hamburg and he currently works for the Norddeutscher Rundfunk, North German Broadcasting. Between 1999 and 2001 he created more than 200 programs about piano music. As a pianist he performed in many European countries (e.g. Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Finland, Assisi-Festival in Italy and Kodály-Festival in Hungary). Neustrelitz
Neustrelitz (; East Low German: ''Niegenstrelitz'') is a town in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated on the shore of the Zierker See in the Mecklenburg Lake District. From 1738 until 1918 it was the capital of the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. From 1994 until 2011 it was the capital of the district of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The name ''Strelitz'' is derived from the Polabian word ''Strelci'', meaning "archers" or "shooters".The related Polish form '' Strzelce'' is still a common toponym in Poland. Tamás Vásáry
Tamás Vásáry (; born 11 August 1933) is a Hungarian concert pianist and conductor. Biography and career Vásáry was born in Debrecen, Hungary, and made his stage debut at the age of 8, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto in D major, K.107 in the city of his birth, where he gave a solo recital the following year. He then began to concertize regularly as a child prodigy. At this time he was introduced to Ernő Dohnányi, a leading figure of musical life in Hungary, who made a unique exception by offering to accept the gifted youth as a pupil in spite of his age. Vásáry studied only a short time under his tutelage, however, as Dohnányi soon left Hungary. He also studied with József Gát and Lajos Hernádi at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, and was later an assistant there to Zoltán Kodály.
