Thomas Bruns (poet)
Thomas Bruns (born November 16, 1976 in Greven) is a German writer and poet. Life and work Thomas Bruns was born in 1976 in Greven in Westphalia. After finishing school with the Abitur at Gymnasium Augustinianum Greven and doing military service he started studying macroeconomics at University of Münster in 1997, after four semesters he changed his subject to politics, philosophy and comparative literature at the same university. After his studies, he travelled to India several times and also stayed there for longer periods. Since the beginning of 2000, Thomas Bruns has published as an author in several anthologies of poetry, among others in the third volume of the series of ''Junge Lyrik'' published by Martin Werhand Verlag in 2002. In 2003 he participated together with six other authors, among them Florian Cieslik, Patric Hemgesberg and Martin Werhand, in a reading from the series Junge Lyrik organized by Thalia bookstore on World Book Day, 23 April in Münster. Walter de Gruyter GmbH, known as De Gruyter (), is a German scholarly publishing house specializing in academic literature. History The roots of the company go back to 1749 when Frederick the Great granted the Königliche Realschule in Berlin the royal privilege to open a bookstore and "to publish good and useful books". NRW Literatur im Netz is a German internet database with short biographies of persons who have lived or worked in North Rhine-Westphalia. The Westphälische Literaturbüro (Westphalian office for literature) in Unna operates the biggest database for literary production in North Rhine-Westphalia, continuously updated since 2001. The database presents authors from NRW with detailed portraits as well as literary institutions and publishers. Nicolai Riedel (born 17 October 1952 in Lübeck) is a German philologist, author and an editor. Riedel worked for a long time as a research fellow in the library of the German Literature Archive in Marbach am Neckar. In addition, he is the author and editor of numerous bibliographical publications. These include works on Uwe Johnson, Ernst Jünger and Günter Kunert. Münster
