Thomas Dolling Bolton (1841 – 16 December 1906), was a British Liberal Party (UK), Liberal Party politician. Family He was a son of James Thomas Bolton, of Solihull, Warwickshire and Mary Ratcliffe, daughter of the Rev. 1886 United Kingdom General Election
The 1886 United Kingdom general election took place from 1 to 27 July 1886, following the defeat of the Government of Ireland Bill 1886. It resulted in a major reversal of the results of the 1885 election as the Conservatives, led by Lord Salisbury, were joined in an electoral pact with the breakaway Unionist wing of the Liberals led by Lord Hartington (later the Duke of Devonshire) and Joseph Chamberlain. The new Liberal Unionist party gave the Conservatives their parliamentary majority but did not join them in a formal coalition. William Ewart Gladstone's Liberals, who supported the Irish Home Rule movement, and their sometimes allies the Irish Parliamentary Party, led by Charles Stewart Parnell, were placed a distant second. William Edwin Harvey
William Edwin Harvey (5 September 1852 – 28 April 1914), known as W. E. Harvey, was a British people, British Liberal-Labour (UK), Lib-Lab Member of Parliament (UK), Member of Parliament. Born in Hasland, Derbyshire, Harvey worked in a coal mine from the age of ten. He joined the South Yorkshire Miners' Association (SYMA) in 1869, and was the union's local delegate by 1872. For his trade union activity, he was dismissed from the local pit, but managed to find work at Sheepbridge, then later at Morton, Derbyshire, Morton. Admiral Francis Egerton (15 September 1824 – 15 December 1895), known as Francis Leveson-Gower until 1833, was a British naval commander and politician from the Egerton family. Early life Egerton was the second son of eleven children born to Harriet Catherine Greville, Countess of Ellesmere, and Francis Egerton, 1st Earl of Ellesmere, who served as Secretary at War and Chief Secretary for Ireland. His father inherited the considerable wealth (but not the titles) of Francis Egerton, 3rd Duke of Bridgewater. His mother, a great-great-granddaughter of the 5th Baron Brooke, was the daughter of Charles Greville, and his paternal grandparents were George Leveson-Gower, 1st Duke of Sutherland and Elizabeth Leveson-Gower, Duchess of Sutherland (daughter of the 18th Earl of Sutherland). North East Derbyshire (UK Parliament Constituency)
North East Derbyshire is a constituency created in 1885 represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Lee Rowley of the Conservative Party. This was the first time a Conservative candidate had been elected since 1935. The seat had been, relative to others, a marginal seat from 2005 to 2019 as its winner's majority had not exceeded 5.7% of the vote since the 23.2% majority won in that year. The seat has changed hands once since that year and is no longer marginal after the 26% majority won in 2019. History ;Summary of results The seat was created in the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885.
