Amerigo Thodé
Amerigo C.M. Thodé (born 27 July 1950) is a Curaçaoan politician of the Movement for the Future of Curaçao (MFK). He served as President of the Estates of Curaçao between November and December 2012 and once again from 24 March 2017 and 11 May 2017. Career In the 2000s Thodé served as secretary-general of the Party Workers' Liberation Front 30 May (FOL). He later switched to Movement for the Future of Curaçao. At the first meeting of the Estates of Curaçao on 10 October 2010 Thodé was elected Vice President. On 2 November 2012 Thodé was elected President of the Estates. After a new government coalition did not include Thodé's MFK he resigned as President of the Estates on 6 December 2012. In January 2016 Thodé was convicted of leaking confidential information from a meeting from the College of Financial Oversight. Connell Thode
Connell Percy Thode (11 March 1911 – 9 October 2014) was a New Zealand naval officer and yachtsman. He served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve during World War II and commanded HMS ''Scythian'', an S class submarine of the Royal Navy. Early life Born in Auckland in 1911, Thode was educated at Mount Albert Grammar School from 1925 to 1926. An accomplished yachtsman, he joined the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron in 1933, and skippered the keel sloop ''Iorangi''. His skill was such that he was in contention to be a crew member on Thomas Sopwith's America's Cup challenge, but this did not proceed following the outbreak of World War II. World War II service After the war began, Thode worked his passage to the United Kingdom, where he joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and served in submarines. Harry Thode
Henry George Thode (September 10, 1910 – March 22, 1997) was a Canadian geochemist, nuclear chemist, and academic administrator. He was president and vice-chancellor of McMaster University from 1961 to 1972. Thode built a cyclotron capable of making radioactive isotopes and, along with C. H. Jaimet, investigated the use of radioactive iodine in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid disease in humans, the first medical application of radioactive iodine in Canada. Born in Dundurn, Saskatchewan, he received his BSc in 1930 and his MSc in 1932 from the University of Saskatchewan. In 1934, he received his PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Chicago. Henry Thode (13 January 1857 – 19 November 1920) was a German art historian. He was born in Dresden and died in Copenhagen. Biography He was an art historian at the time of the Weimar republic. He wrote against the prevailing ideas of the time that art from outside of Germany, such as French Impressionism was superior to traditional academic or native art. Thode believed that great German art should illustrate technical skill, realism and the German spirit. He also felt that art should be understood by all, not just academics and the bourgeois. Thode wrote a great deal about how the modern art of the Impressionists attempted to both destroy 'true' German art and the 'true' German spirit. His philosophies were very important in the formulation of the cultural policies of the Third Reich, especially in terms of 'degenerate' art. Thode ( 2016 population: ) is a resort village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Census Division No. 11. It is on the shores of Blackstrap Lake in the Rural Municipality of Dundurn No. 314. It is east of the town of Dundurn. The Marshall Archipelago () is an extensive group of large ice-covered islands within the Sulzberger Ice Shelf, Antarctica. Discovery and name Several of the islands in the Marshall Archipelago were discovered and plotted by the Byrd Antarctic Expeditions (ByrdAE; 1928–30 and 1933–35) and by the United States Antarctic Service (USAS; 1939–41), all led by Admiral Richard E.
