Thisuri Yuwanika Madduma Liyanage ( si, තිසුරි යුවනිකා මද්දුම ලියනගේ; born March 6, 1991), popularly as Thisuri Yuwanika, is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theater and television. Started as a child artist in 1994, Yuwanika has been awarded Best Upcoming Teledrama Actress and Best Actress in multiple times in several award festivals. Early life, background and education She is the only child of Susantha Chandramali and Kumaru Liyanage. Her mother, Susantha Chandramali is a well renowned actress in Sri Lanka who is considered an icon in the Sri Lankan drama field for more than 25 years. ''Machan'' is a 2008 Italian-Sri Lankan comedy film written, directed, and produced by Uberto Pasolini as his directorial debut about the made-up Sri Lankan National Handball Team that vanished in 2004. Background Based upon a true story, the film was shot on locations in Sri Lanka and Germany. The inspiration came from the actual case of the 2004 incident, where a fake Sri Lankan national handball team tricked its way into a German tournament, lost all of their matches, and subsequently vanished. Production spent several weeks speaking with people in the less fortunate areas of Colombo and used the people met through that research to create the backgrounds of the main characters. Mollie Dunuwila Senanayake
Mollie Dunuwila Senanayake (née Dunuwila), was a Sri Lankan public figure, she was the wife of Don Stephen Senanyake, who became Prime Minister of newly independent dominion in 1948. Her son Dudley was the second Prime Minister of Ceylon, in 1952. Early life Mollie (or Molly) Dunuwila (or Dunuwille) was the daughter of R. R. Dunuwila and Grace Jayatilaka. Her father was in local government, serving as police magistrate and later as Secretary of the Colombo Municipal Council. Her maternal grandfather, Frederick Jayatilaka, was an officer in the Ceylon Civil Service and had served as the District Judge of Kalutara. Marriage Dunuwila married D. S. Senanayake in 1910. They had two sons, Dudley Senanayake (1911-1973) and Robert Parakrama Senanayake (1913-1986). She was widowed when D. S. Senanayake died in 1952, in a riding accident.
