''Thisai Maariya Paravaigal'' () is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language romance film, directed by S. Jagadeesan. The film was produced by P. S. Veerappa and P. S. V. Hari Haran under his productions P. S. V. Pictures. The film screenplay were written by P. L. Sundararajan. Music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. It stars Sarath Babu and Sumalatha. This was Sumalatha's debut film appearance. Plot A harijan girl is brought up by a high-cast Brahmin in the agraharam, and the family is faced with antagonism and hatred. Sathyam Babu Dixithulu (born 31 July 1951), known by his stage name Sarath Babu, is an Indian actor known for his works predominantly in Tamil and Telugu cinema. He has worked in more than 200 films. He has appeared in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and a few in Malayalam and Hindi. He entered the film industry in 1973 through a Telugu film and later became popular through the Tamil film ''Nizhal Nijamagiradhu'' (1978), directed by K. Balachander. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968. He briefly served as the presidium chairman of AIADMK from 2002 to 2003, when he resigned citing ill-health. Biography Pulamaipithan was born in Irugur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 6 October 1935.
