Garbage (band)
Garbage is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band's lineup—consisting of Scottish singer Shirley Manson (vocals) and American musicians Duke Erikson (guitar, bass, keyboards), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards), and Butch Vig (drums, production)—has remained unchanged since its inception. All four members are involved in the songwriting and production process. Garbage has sold over 17 million albums worldwide. The band's eponymous debut album was critically acclaimed upon its release, selling over four million copies and achieving double platinum certification in the United Kingdom, United States and in Australia. It was accompanied by a string of increasingly successful singles from 1995 to 1996, including " Stupid Girl" and "Only Happy When It Rains". Follow-up '' Version 2.0'', released in 1998 after a year in production, was equally successful, topping the UK Albums Chart and receiving two Grammy Award nominations. Garbage followed this by p ...

20 Years Queer
20 Years Queer was a concert tour by American rock band Garbage, to mark the twentieth anniversary of their debut album ''Garbage''. The title also references the band's early single "Queer", and the promotional poster is redolent of the self-titled album's pink feather artwork. The tour was preceded by a special 20-year edition of the record, which was re-mastered and featured remixes and previously unreleased versions of album tracks. Garbage performed the album in its entirety as well as all the B-sides recorded during that period. Tour announcement The commemorative tour was initially announced in March with shows confirmed in Paris and London, and was expected to travel to a number of cities worldwide. Further European dates, including a "homecoming" concert in Edinburgh, were announced over the following three months. The entire itinerary of North American dates were announced in June 2015. Upon the announcement of the tour, Shirley Manson stated: "This is the album that ...

Strange Little Birds
''Strange Little Birds'' is the sixth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on June 10, 2016, through the band's own record label, Stunvolume. It is their second independent album release, and follows 2012's ''Not Your Kind of People''. The album's press release describes ''Strange Little Birds'' as "a sweeping, cinematic record of a unified mood: darkness". ''Strange Little Birds'' was preceded by a lead single, "Empty", and supported by an international tour. Composition and style Singer Shirley Manson said, "the guiding principle was keeping it fresh, and relying on instinct both lyrically and musically"; "To me, this record, funnily enough, has the most to do with the first record than any of the previous records. It’s getting back to that beginner’s headspace." Manson described ''Strange Little Birds'' as a "romantic" record. Manson clarified later, "What I mean by romance, really, is vulnerability. I used to feel so scared, and I think that was ...

Not Your Kind Of People
''Not Your Kind of People'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on May 11, 2012, through the band's own record label, Stunvolume. The album marks the return of the band after a seven-year hiatus that started with previous album '' Bleed Like Me''. Guitarist Duke Erikson said at the launch of the record that "working with Garbage again was very instinctual. Like getting on a bicycle...with three other people." The band emphasized that they did not want to reinvent themselves, but embrace their sonic identity, reflecting their classic sound whilst updating it for 2012. Although Shirley Manson's morose dispositions have a presence on the record, many of the songs share a more optimistic outlook on life, influenced by some of Manson's personal experiences during their hiatus. Recorded mostly at various recording studios in California, ''Not Your Kind of People'' was produced by Garbage, and was engineered and mixed by Billy Bush. The album con ...

Bleed Like Me
''Bleed Like Me'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released worldwide on April 11, 2005, through Warner Music imprint A&E Records, with a North American release on Geffen Records the following day. For this album, the band chose a straight rock sound reminiscent of their live performances instead of the electronica that permeated their previous album '' Beautiful Garbage'' (2001). The first recording sessions took place in March 2003, but were mostly unproductive due to passive aggression between band members and a general lack of direction. As they struggled to record the album, Garbage quietly split for four months starting in October 2003. They reunited under producer John King in Los Angeles and, following a guest appearance by Dave Grohl on "Bad Boyfriend", they found a renewed focus on production. Garbage recruited drummer Matt Walker and bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen for new recording sessions and completed the album by late 2004. Follo ...

Bleed Like Me (song)
"Bleed Like Me" is a song by American alternative rock band Garbage and the title-track of their fourth studio album (2005). After many reviews highlighted the track as the centrepiece of the ''Bleed Like Me'' album, "Bleed Like Me" was released as the album's second single in North America by Geffen Records imprint Almo Sounds. Despite previous single "Why Do You Love Me" being an out-of-the-box success at radio and a Hot 100 entry, "Bleed Like Me" received a more muted reception from radio programmers. Club mixes of the track sent the remix package into the top ten of the ''Billboard'' dance chart. In the United Kingdom, despite initially being scheduled as the second single, "Sex Is Not The Enemy" was released in place of "Bleed Like Me", while in Europe and Australia, the single was replaced with " Run Baby Run". Garbage shot music videos for all three singles with director Sophie Muller. Song "Bleed Like Me" was written and recorded during sessions at the band's home base ...

Beautiful Garbage
''Beautiful Garbage'' (stylized as ''beautifulgarbage'') is the third studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on October 1, 2001, on Mushroom Records worldwide, with the North American release on Interscope Records the following day. Marking a departure from the sound the band had established on their first two releases, the album was written and recorded over the course of a year, when lead singer Shirley Manson chronicled their efforts weekly online, becoming one of the first high-profile musicians to keep an Internet blog. The album expanded on the band's musical variety, with stronger melodies, more direct lyrics, and sounds mixing rock with electronica, new wave, hip hop, and girl groups. Released three weeks after the September 11 attacks, the album suffered from lack of promotion and the failure of its lead single "Androgyny" to achieve high chart positions. ''Beautiful Garbage'' debuted at number 13 on the ''Billboard'' 200, while topping the albums ...

"You Look So Fine" is a single released in 1999, and was the final single taken from Garbage's second album '' Version 2.0'', where it was also the closing track. Garbage (album)
''Garbage'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on August 15, 1995, by Almo Sounds. The album was met with critical acclaim upon its release, being viewed by some as an innovative recording for its time. It reached number 20 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and number six on the UK Albums Chart, while charting inside the top 20 and receiving multi-platinum certifications in several territories. The album's success was helped by the band promoting it on a year-long tour, including playing on the European festival circuit and supporting the Smashing Pumpkins throughout 1996, as well as by a run of increasingly successful singles culminating with " Stupid Girl", which received Grammy Award nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group in 1997. In October 2015, the album was reissued to mark its 20th anniversary, featuring remastered tracks from the original analog tapes, as well as remixes and previously unreleased alte ...

Milk (Garbage Song)
"Milk" is a song written and produced by American alternative rock band Garbage from their self-titled debut studio album (1995). The song was released internationally the following year as the album's fifth and final single. Garbage collaborated with English trip hop musician Tricky on a new version of "Milk" for single release. Much media comment was made regarding a rumoured fall-out over the sessions, when it became known that Garbage produced a further mix of "Milk" that only incorporated Tricky's vocals from that session. After an acclaimed live performance of the new recording of "Milk" at the 1996 MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as winning the Best Breakthrough Act, "Milk (The Wicked Mix feat. Tricky)" debuted at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart, outselling the previous single " Stupid Girl". A mix that deleted Tricky's vocal, "Milk (The Siren mix)", charted in Germany, Australia and New Zealand. In North America, "Milk" was released alongside album cut "Supervixen" ...
