"This Is an Emergency" is the first single from The Pigeon Detectives second album ''Emergency''. It was first played on 24 March 2008 on BBC Radio 1 and was released on 12 May 2008. The B-sides, "Get the Message" and "Make You Mine", were both recorded in the album sessions with Stephen Street. The Pigeon Detectives
The Pigeon Detectives are an English indie rock band from Rothwell in Leeds, West Yorkshire, who formed in 2004. The band have released five albums from 2007 to present. They performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2006, where they were tagged "the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007" in an ''NME'' review. The band returned to the festival in 2007 and performed on the main stage in 2011. They went on to tour and play festivals around the world including Fuji Rocks (Japan), Rock AM Ring (Germany), Rock Oyster Festival (UK), Lowlands (Netherlands) to name a few. ''Emergency'' is the second album by Leeds band, The Pigeon Detectives. The album was released on 26 May 2008, just under a year after their platinum debut selling album, ''Wait for Me''. The album was produced by Stephen Street who has produced for bands such as Blur, Babyshambles, The Smiths, Feeder and Kaiser Chiefs. The first single from the album was "This Is an Emergency" on 12 May 2008, which was first played by Radio 1 on 24 March 2008. The album was subject to an early leak onto the internet on 1 May, and spread via P2P networks. Unlike many early album leaks, the audio files that were distributed on the internet were of a high quality, and not highly compressed files. The album peaked at number five in its first week but fell out the charts quickly, spending three weeks in the top 40. Dance To The Radio is a British independent record label, based in Leeds, England. History It was named after the refrain of the Joy Division song "Transmission". The label launched with the release of a compilation album 'Dance To The Radio: Leeds' at an eponymous launch event in Leeds in March 2005. The label subsequently released some 7" singles by the likes of iLiKETRAiNS, The Pigeon Detectives, Yes Boss, Napoleon IIIrd, This Et Al and ¡Forward, Russia!. The 2008 Chinese Grand Prix (officially the 2008 Formula 1 Sinopec Chinese Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held on 19 October 2008 at the Shanghai International Circuit.
