''Third Party Risk'' is a 1953 crime novel by the British writer Nicolas Bentley. While holidaying near Marseilles author Philip Geiger is rescued from drowning by a fellow guest at the hotel who soon embroils him in a series of events that lead to murder. Nicolas Bentley
Nicolas Clerihew Bentley (14 June 1907 – 14 August 1978) was a British writer and illustrator, best known for his humorous cartoon drawings in books and magazines in the 1930s and 1940s. The son of Edmund Clerihew Bentley (inventor of the clerihew verse form), he was given the name Nicholas, but opted to change the spelling. Early career Nicholas Clerihew Bentley was born on 14 June 1907 at Highgate in London. He was educated at University College School, which he left at the age of 17, having decided that his academic abilities would not take him to university. He then enrolled at Heatherleys School of Fine Art, a prestigious private college, but left after a few months. After leaving Heatherley's, Bentley worked without pay as a clown in a circus. When this job ended, he was a film extra; and during the General Strike of 1926 he worked on the London Underground. Finlay Currie

Lloyd Bridges
Lloyd Vernet Bridges Jr. (January 15, 1913 – March 10, 1998) was an American film, stage and television actor who starred in a number of television series and appeared in more than 150 feature films. He was the father of four children, including the actors Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges. Daniel Birt
Daniel Birt (23 June 1907 – 15 May 1955) was an English film director and editor. Career Birt began his career as an editor in 1932 with an assistant credit on ''The Lucky Number'' and went on to edit 12 films during the 1930s. World War II brought a career hiatus and Birt didn't return to the film industry until the late 1940s. Having worked as supervising editor on ''Green Fingers'' and ''The Ghosts of Berkeley Square'', he was given his first directorial assignment in 1947 - ''The Three Weird Sisters'', a pseudo-Gothic tale set in a decaying Welsh mansion. This was followed in 1948 by ''No Room at the Inn'' (co-scripted, like the previous film, by Dylan Thomas), a powerful and unsparing film dealing with child cruelty in an evacuee household during the war. Birt directed a further ten films in the crime/thriller genre, mostly second features, before his early death, aged 47, in May 1955.
