Third Bouffier Cabinet
The Third Bouffier cabinet was the state government of Hesse between 2019 and 2022, sworn in on 18 January 2019 after Volker Bouffier was elected as List of Minister-Presidents of Hesse, Minister-President of Hesse by the members of the Landtag of Hesse. It was the 22nd Cabinet of Hesse. It was formed after the 2018 Hessian state election by the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Alliance 90/The Greens (GRÜNE). Excluding the Minister-President, the cabinet comprised eleven ministers. Seven were members of the CDU and four were members of the Greens. After Bouffier's resignation as Minister-President, the third Bouffier cabinet was succeeded by the Rhein cabinet on 31 May 2022. Landtag Of Hesse
The Landtag of Hesse (german: link=no, Hessischer Landtag) is the unicameral parliament of the State of Hesse in the Federal Republic of Germany. It convenes in the Stadtschloss in Wiesbaden. As a legislature it is responsible for passing laws at the state level and enacting the budget. Its most important function is to elect and control the state government. The constitution of the State of Hesse describes the role of the Landtag in sections 75 to 99. The Landtag consists of 137 members of six parties. There is a coalition between the Christian Democratic Union and the Greens. The President of the Landtag is Astrid Wallmann and the Minister-President of Hesse is Boris Rhein. The members are elected via a mixed-member proportional representation system, with a minimum of 5% vote share to receive any seats. The minister-president of Hesse (german: Ministerpräsident des Landes Hessen), also referred to as the premier or minister-president (also translated into English as the prime minister of Hessen), is the head of government of the German state of Hesse. The position in its current form was created in 1946, when the provisional state of Greater Hesse was renamed. Greater Hesse had been formed in 1945 after the Second World War from the Prussian Provinces of Kurhessen and Nassau (formed from the Prussian Province of Hesse-Nassau in 1944) and the People's State of Hesse.
