Thiramala
''Thiramala'' is a 1953 Malayalam-language film, directed by Vimal Kumar and P. R. S. Pillai, starring Sathyan, Kumari Thankam, Thomas Burleigh, Ponathil Sivadas, Prabha . The film has a significant place in the history of Malayalam cinema. Filmmaker Ramu Kariat worked as an assistant director in this film. Hindustani vocalist Lakshmi Shankar recorded a song for this film. The film was screened in various territories of the Kerala state with a different climax, a highly unique way in those days. Valsala Menon (born 1945) is an Indian actress who works in Malayalam films. She has acted in over 200+ films. Currently she is active in Malayalam television serials. Early life Valsala Menon was born in 1945 to Raman Menon and Devakiyamma in Thrissur District. She has three elder brothers. Since early childhood she has learned classical dancing and has performed on various stages in the august audience of leaders and rulers of the time. Kumari Thankam was an Indian actress who acted in Malayalam cinema. She was a lead actress during the late 1950s and 1960s in Malayalam. She made her debut in Aathmasakhi in 1952. She acted in more than 50 movies. Personal life Kumari came from Poojapura, Thiruvananthapuram. She was married to a brother of Lalitha- Padmini- Ragini trio, producer P. K. Sathyapal and they had three children, late S. Padmanabhan, late S. Jayapal and Asha. She died on 8 March 2011 at Shenoy Nagar, Chennai. Ramu Kariat
Ramu Kariat (1 February 1927 – 10 February 1979) was an Indian film director for almost three decades from the 1950s to the 1970s, who directed many acclaimed films in the Malayalam cinema. His noted films include ''Neelakkuyil'' (1954), ''Minnaminungu'' (1957), ''Mudiyanaya Puthran'' (1961), ''Moodupadam'' (1963) and the National Award winning ''Chemmeen'' (1965). Adoor Bhasi
K. Bhaskaran Nair (1 March 1929 – 29 March 1990), known by his stage name Adoor Bhasi, was an Indian actor and film director from Kerala. Adoor Bhasi was almost always cast as the man who stands next to the hero. Sathyaneshan Nadar
Sathyan (born Cheruvilakathu Veetil Manuel Sathyanesan Nadar; 9 November 1912 – 15 June 1971) was an Indian actor known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Known for his own style and versatility in acting, Satyan was one of the pioneers of realistic acting in Indian film industry. He is respectfully called Sathyan Master. He was also a soldier in the British Indian Army and later a police officer with the Travancore State Police. Sathyan served as an officer in the British Indian Army during World War II. After the war he joined the Travancore state police as an inspector in late 1940s. During this time he got interested in acting and acted in amateur stage plays. Lakshmi Shankar (née Sastri, 16 June 1926 – 30 December 2013) was an Indian singer and a noted Hindustani classical. Born into a south Indian Brahmin family, she became an outstanding Hindustani vocalist of the Patiala Gharana and married Rajendra Shankar, brother of Uday Shankar, a Bengali by birth.
