Thin Air (album)
''Thin Air'' is British singer-songwriter Peter Hammill's 32nd solo album, released on his own Fie! Records label in June 2009. It was additionally made available as digital download through Burning Shed Records. As on his previous release, '' Singularity'', Hammill played all instruments, wrote all the songs and produced the album. The main theme of the album is disappearance, as Hammill told British music magazine Mojo in February 2009: "it became apparent fairly quickly that strong thematic links were running through the songs' lyrics: disappearance, change, loss, dislocation in various forms were stitched through all of them." Another topic reappearing in several songs is the one of the World Trade Center along with images of planes, though Hammill denied "any direct" reference to 9/11. According to François Couture of AllMusic AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entrie ...

Spenser (film Series)
Joe Mantegna portrayed Robert B. Parker's detective " Spenser" in three TV films on the A&E cable network between 1999 and 2001. Production Robert B. Parker had a significant role in the development of the TV movies (all three films were adapted by Parker, with his wife co-authoring ''Walking Shadow'') as opposed to the earlier '' Spenser: For Hire''. Nonetheless, he felt that the movies didn't get it right, not because of the performances but because of the limited budget. Parker had a small role in the first film, and cameos in the later two. His son, Daniel, and wife, Joan, appear in ''Thin Air''. Spenser's ally, Hawk, was played by Sheik Mahmud-Bey in "Small Vices", and returns in "Walking Shadow" portrayed by Ernie Hudson. All three movies were filmed in locations in Canada. Films Spenser: Small Vices In this movie Spenser tries to solve the murder of a college student. It was broadcast in 1999, and is based on the 1997 novel of the same name. * Joe Mantegna as ...

Thin Air (Star Trek)
''Star Trek: New Earth'' is a series of interlinked novels inspired by Gene Roddenberry's original pitch for ''Star Trek'': "Wagon train to the stars." Created by John J. Ordover, the novels follow the crew of the ''Enterprise'' as they escort a colonial expedition into a hostile region of unexplored space. The novels occur during the second five-year mission, sometime between the episode "Turnabout Intruder" and '' Star Trek: The Motion Picture''. The series was intended to be the springboard for a flagship new book line similar to '' Star Trek: New Frontier'', called ''Star Trek: Challenger''. Production John J. Ordover told Jeff Ayers, in ''Voyages of Imagination'' (2006), the concept for ''New Earth'' originated as "a personal reaction to '' Voyager''." He believed there was no stakes for those characters, no "emotional tie" to the region that ship was passing through. Ordover asked, “What if you went outside the known galaxy or outside the common area to find a new co ...

Binaural (album)
''Binaural'' is the sixth studio album by American rock band Pearl Jam, released May 16, 2000, through Epic Records. Following a full-scale tour in support of its previous album, '' Yield'' (1998), Pearl Jam took a short break before reconvening toward the end of 1999 to begin work on a new album. During the production of the album, the band encountered hindrances such as singer Eddie Vedder's writer's block, and guitarist Mike McCready's entrance into rehabilitation due to an addiction to prescription drugs. This is Pearl Jam's first album to feature former Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, who joined during 1998's Yield Tour to replace Jack Irons. The music on the album featured an experimental sound, evident on songs that used binaural recording techniques. The atmospheric tracks, mostly featuring somber lyrics dealing with social criticism, led the band to convey these themes with images of nebulas in the album artwork. ''Binaural'' received positive reviews, and debuted at num ...
