Thijs Römer
Thijs Römer (born 26 July 1978) is a Dutch actor. He appeared in more than twenty films since 2000. He divorced actress Katja Schuurman in February 2015. On November 17th 2022, the Dutch authorities officially announced Römer will be prosecuted for alleged grooming of underaged girls on the internet. Katja Schuurman
Katja Schuurman (born 19 February 1975) is a Dutch actress, singer and television personality. Early life She grew up as the eldest daughter of a Dutch father and a Surinamese mother, born in Curaçao. Her sister Birgit is also a singer and actress. Acting career 1992-1999 Schuurman made her acting debut in 1992 on the television series ''Uit de school geklapt''. Her breakthrough came two years later when she resurfaced in the RTL soap ''Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden (GTST)'' as Jessica, one of Govert Harmsen's three nieces. With two other characters from ''GTST'' she formed the spin-off girl group Linda, Roos & Jessica. Their debut single "Ademnood" (English version: "Turn Your Love Around'") topped the Dutch charts in late 1995. ''Keep Off'' ( nl, Afblijven) is a 2006 Dutch children's film, based on the children's novel ''Afblijven'' by Carry Slee. The film, much like the book, explores drug abuse by adolescents and the negative effects it has on their lives. The film received a Golden Film (100,000 visitors). Plot Fourteen-year-old Melissa (Sem Veeger) pretends she's taking ballet lessons, to please her strict father, while she is in fact a hip hop dancer. She is given the opportunity to audition for background dancer in a video clip, but grows uncertain of her abilities. A newly met friend, Jim, gives her XTC, which enhances her performance. She is then selected to be in the music video. Her close friends Jordi and Fleur watch as Melissa becomes dependent on both XTC and Jim, who is now her new boyfriend, but can't convince Melissa she is making a wrong turn. The Golden Calf ( nl, Gouden Kalf) is the award of the Netherlands Film Festival, which is held annually in Utrecht. The award has been presented since 1981, originally in six categories: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Culture Prize and Honourable mention. ''Medea'' is a 2005 Dutch television serial in six episodes directed by Theo van Gogh, starring Katja Schuurman, Thijs Römer and Tara Elders. It tells the story of the daughter of a politician who tries to help her selfish boyfriend to become the prime minister of the Netherlands. The screenplay was written by Theodor Holman and is a take on Euripides' play ''Medea'', with the story moved to contemporary Dutch politics. ''06/05'', called ''May 6th'' in most English-speaking countries, is a Dutch 2004 film directed by Theo van Gogh, based on the novel '' De Zesde Mei'' by Tomas Ross. The film is a fictional version of the events that led to the assassination of the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn on 6 May 2002. The lines between reality and fiction are blurred in 06/05. It is the last film of Theo van Gogh, who was himself assassinated in 2004. Theo van Gogh struck a deal with Dutch internet provider Tiscali over the film's finances. The movie was originally released in December 2004 on the internet, a situation that had never before been seen in the Netherlands; it could be watched via pay-on-demand. ''Kapitein Rob'' ("Captain Rob") was a Dutch adventure comic strip, created and drawn by Pieter Kuhn and written by journalist Evert Werkman. The series ran from December 11, 1945 until January 21, 1966. Together with Marten Toonder's ''Tom Poes'' and Hans G. Kresse's '' Eric de Noorman'' it is considered to be the among the ''Big Three'' in the history of Dutch comics. Concept Kapitein Rob is a sea captain. Igone de Jongh (born 9 September 1979) is a Dutch ballerina and a former principal dancer with the Dutch National Ballet. She is featured in the music video for Anouk's song ''Birds'', the official Netherlands entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
