Thijs Römer
Thijs Römer (born 26 July 1978) is a Dutch actor. He has appeared in more than twenty films and television shows since 2002. Career Römer began his career in theater, playing his first roles in 1998 in the play ''De Zeven Deugden: Doolhof en Orestes'', and he also appeared in the film version of the play. In 2002 he co-founded the theater group ''Annette Speelt'' together with his colleagues from the Academy of Theatre and Dance, theater school in Amsterdam. In the same year he made his debut on television in the show ''Najib en Julia'', directed by Theo van Gogh (film director), Theo van Gogh. The following years saw him acting in other projects directed by van Gogh: ''Cool!'' (2004), ''06/05'' (2004) and ''Medea'' (2005). For his role in ''06/05'' he received the Golden Calf (award), Golden Calf award for best actor in 2005. Römer made his English language acting debut in 2007's ''Blind Date (2007 film), Blind Date''. Katja Schuurman
Katja Schuurman (born 19 February 1975) is a Dutch actress, singer and television personality. Early life Schuurman grew up as the eldest daughter of a Dutch people, Dutch father and a Curaçao-born Surinamese mother of mixed Dutch, Chinese, Indigenous and African heritage. She is the older sister of singer and actress Birgit Schuurman (1977). Schuurman attended the Montessori Lyceum Herman Jordan in Zeist, and had early experiences with show business; a small role in tv-series ''Uit de school geklapt'' (1993), posing for a magazine, and twice winning the finale of the Soundmixshow with her ballet group. ''Medea'' is a 2005 Dutch television serial in six episodes directed by Theo van Gogh, starring Katja Schuurman, Thijs Römer and Tara Elders. It tells the story of the daughter of a politician who tries to help her selfish boyfriend to become the prime minister of the Netherlands. The screenplay was written by Theodor Holman and is a take on Euripides' play '' Medea'', with the story moved to contemporary Dutch politics. The film, much like the book, explores drug abuse by adolescents and the negative effects it has on their lives. The film received a Golden Film (100,000 visitors). Plot Fourteen-year-old Melissa (Sem Veeger) pretends she's taking ballet lessons, to please her strict father, while she is in fact a hip hop dancer. She is then selected to be in the music video. ''Kapitein Rob'' ("Captain Rob") was a Dutch adventure comic strip, created and drawn by Pieter Kuhn and written by journalist Evert Werkman. The series ran from December 11, 1945 until January 21, 1966. Together with Marten Toonder's '' Tom Poes'' and Hans G. Kresse's '' Eric de Noorman'' it is considered to be among the ''Big Three'' in the history of Dutch comics. Concept Kapitein Rob is a sea captain. He owns a sailing ship nicknamed ''De Vrijheid'' (''The Freedom'') and an invention called "Historisch Oog" ("Historical Eye"), which allows him to travel back in time and have adventures in previous centuries involving pirates and explorers.
