Thierry Rijkhart De Voogd
Thierry Marc Rijkhart de Voogd (also Rykhart de Voogd; 15 August 1944 – 28 May 1999) was a French-born Dutch Realism (arts), realist painter of still life, Landscape painting, landscapes, Figure painting, figures, Portrait painting, portraits and Animal painter, animals. Life Thierry Rijkhart de Voogd was born in Grand-Couronne near Rouen, France, on 15 August 1944. He was the son of a Dutch couple who had emigrated to France. He studied at a young age at the École Régionale des Beaux-Arts de Rouen in the years 1959–1962. He then worked as an artist in France and married the later Sculpture, sculptor Maïté Duval in 1967. The couple moved to the Netherlands where Rijkhart de Voogd had his atelier in Voorst (1968–1987) and Zutphen (1987-1999). The artistic archives of both Duval and Rijkhart de Voogd were donated to the regional archive in Zutphen. Hopscotch is a popular playground game in which players toss a small object, called a lagger, into numbered triangles or a pattern of rectangles outlined on the ground and then hop or jump through the spaces and retrieve the object. Singer Laren is a museum and concert hall located in the center of Laren, the Netherlands. The museum is devoted to presenting and preserving the collection of the American artist William Henry Singer (1868–1943) and his wife Anna (1878–1962). Laren School William Henry Singer was the son of a steel baron of the same name who sold his company Pittsburgh Bessemer Steel Co. to Andrew Carnegie. Against the wishes of his father, young Singer became an artist and after marrying Anna Spencer-Brugh in 1895, he moved to Monhegan, Maine to join the artist colony there. Institut Néerlandais
The Institut Néerlandais (1957–2013) was a non-profit institution in Paris devoted to the promotion of Dutch art and culture. One of the earliest foreign cultural centers in Paris, it was founded in 1957 by Frits Lugt. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sole financier of the center announced its closure in 2013. It closed in December 2013. Located at 121 rue de Lille, it occupied the Hôtel Turgot, an 18th-century mansion. IJssel
The IJssel (; nds-nl, Iessel(t) ) is a Dutch distributary of the river Rhine that flows northward and ultimately discharges into the IJsselmeer (before the 1932 completion of the Afsluitdijk known as the Zuiderzee), a North Sea natural harbour. It more immediately flows into the east-south channel around the Flevopolder, Flevoland which is kept at 3 metres below sea level. This body of water is then pumped up into the IJsselmeer. It is sometimes called the Gelderse IJssel (; "Gueldern IJssel") to distinguish it from the Hollandse IJssel. It is in the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. The Romans knew the river as Isala.
