Thierry Pelenga
Thierry François Pelenga alias Bokassa is an Anti-balaka leader and war criminal from Haute-Kotto prefecture in the Central African Republic. War As a member of Banda ethnic group, Pelenga was a leader of one of the Banda self-defense groups in Bria under influence of FPRC. In June 2016 he was elected zone commander of Bria's subprefecture. Maxime Mokom reportedly approached him and tried to persuade him to join Anti-balaka forces. Initially he refused. In February 2018 he was reportedly one of leaders of Anti-balaka in PK3 camp in Bria, Central African Republic, together with Jean-Francis Diandi, also known as Ramazani. At this point he was 35 years old. In June 2018 he killed four women in the village of Gbre, five kilometers from Bria. The next day, his fighters killed three people. Anti-balaka
The Anti-balaka is an alliance of militia groups based in the Central African Republic in the early 21st century said to be composed primarily of Christians. However, some church leaders have contested the claimed exclusively Christian character of such groups. Banda People
__NOTOC__ The Banda people are an ethnic group of the Central African Republic. They are likewise found in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, and South Sudan. They were severely affected by slave raids of the 19th century and slave trading out of Africa. Bria, Central African Republic
Bria is the capital of Haute-Kotto, one of the 14 prefectures of the Central African Republic. As of the 2003 census the town had a population of 35,204. Geography Bria is located on the Kotto River. History Civil war On 18 December 2012 Bria was captured by Séléka rebels. Popular Front for the Rebirth of Central African Republic (FPRC, french: Front populaire pour la renaissance de la Centrafrique) is a rebel group in the Central African Republic which controls areas of the northern part of the country, until 2021 based in N'Délé. Jean-Francis Diandi alias Ramazani is an Anti-balaka militia leader from Bria, Central African Republic. War He was responsible for killing a Mauritanian peacekeeper on 4 December 2017. He was arrested on 16 March 2018 by peacekeeping forces and sent to Ngaragba Central Prison in Bangui.
