Theodore M. Sanders
Theodore M. Sanders (March 13, 1879 – June 10, 1947) was an American architect in practice in Little Rock, Arkansas from 1905 until his death in 1947. From 1927 to 1938 he was a partner of Charles L. Thompson, Arkansas' preeminent architect of the early twentieth century. Life and career Theodore Marcus Sanders was born March 13, 1879 in Little Rock to Fred Sanders and Fannie Sanders, who were German immigrants. Sanders attended the Little Rock public schools and was educated at the University of Illinois, graduating in 1902 with a BS in architecture. He then joined the office of architect Frank W. Gibb in Little Rock, for whom he had worked between school terms. During the year 1904–05 he traveled in Europe, and upon his return formed the partnership of Gibb & Sanders with Gibb. Ada Thompson Memorial Home
The Ada Thompson Memorial Home was a home for indigent elderly women at 2021 South Main Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. Founded in 1882 by prominent local citizens, it served in that capacity until 1976. The surviving building, a two-story brick building with Beaux Arts, Colonial Revival, and Georgian Revival features, was built in 1900 to a design by Frank Gibb and Theodore Sanders. The home was named in honor of Ada Thompson Crutchfield, who gave a major bequest to the organization in honor of her parents. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The Hotel Fredeirica is a historic commercial building at 625 West Capitol Avenue in Little Rock, Arkansas. The five-story building was built in 1914 and enlarged in 1941. The BPOE Elks Club is a historic social club meeting house at 4th and Scott Streets in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a handsome three-story brick building, with Renaissance Revival features. The Williamson House is a historic house at 325 Fairfax Street in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. It is a two-story wood-frame structure, with a gabled roof, clapboarded exterior, and brick foundation. Its roof has exposed rafter ends in the Craftsman style, and a wraparound porch supported by simple square columns. The projecting entry porch has a gable with decorative false half-timbering, and is supported by grouped columns. Rison, Arkansas
Rison is a city in and the county seat of Cleveland County, Arkansas, United States. Its population was 1,344 at the 2010 U.S. census. It is included in the Pine Bluff, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rison is a bedroom community for people who work in Pine Bluff (in neighboring Jefferson County). The area, extending along South Main Street roughly between 19th and 23rd Streets, was developed between about 1880 and 1945, and includes a well-preserved set of residential architecture from that period. Pine Bluff is the eleventh-largest city in the state of Arkansas and the county seat of Jefferson County. It is the principal city of the Pine Bluff Metropolitan Statistical Area and part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Pine Bluff Combined Statistical Area.
