Theodor Dahl
Theodor Dahl (4 November 1886 – 5 May 1946) was a Norwegian journalist, short story writer, novelist and poet. Personal life Dahl was born in Klepp to watchmaker and schoolteacher Kristian Dahl and Karen Torkildsdotter Engelsvoll. In 1905 he married Ingeborg Pedersen. Career Dahl was a journalist for the newspaper ''Stavanger Avis'' from 1906. He edited ''Stavanger Morgenblad'' from 1911 to 1912, worked for ''Vestlandsposten'' from 1914 to 1916, and thereafter for ''Stavangeren''. He made his literary debut in 1921 with the story collection ''Lyngheisfolk''. Further books are the novels ''Hanalandshanen'' (1922), ''Manden paa Timpelleitet'' (1923), ''Runest-krosset'' (1927), and ''Tre lys og to skjebner'' (1932). In 1938 he published the poetry collection ''Jeg kranser min jord''. Klepp
Klepp is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Jæren. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kleppe. Other villages in Klepp include Klepp stasjon, Orre, Orstad, Pollestad, Verdalen, and Voll. Klepp is a flat and open agricultural landscape. The highest point, ''Tinghaug'', is at above sea level. There are long stretches of sand beaches along the North Sea coastline in the west. The municipality is the 324th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. It is the fourth largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. Jæren
Jæren is a traditional district in Rogaland county, Norway. The other districts in Rogaland are Dalane, Ryfylke, and Haugalandet. Jæren is one of the 15 districts that comprise Western Norway. At about , Jæren is the largest flat lowland area in Norway, stretching from the municipality of Randaberg in the north to Hå in the south. It includes the whole Stavanger Peninsula and the mainland area at its base. Henry Imsland
Henry Imsland (27 May 1900 – 14 June 1981) was a Norwegian illustrator. He was born in Stavanger as a son of Jacob Imsland (1868–1950) and Henriette Knudsen (1871–1941). He married Dorthea Grude (1906–1982). He became deaf at the age of nine, but dedicated himself to drawing. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1916 to 1920, among others with Johan Nordhagen as a teacher. He made his debut exhibit at Statens kunstutstilling in 1919, and got his first newspaper job in ''Stavanger Aftenblad''. In the first years he also drew advertisements, and founded and edited the humorous magazine '' Molboposten'' in 1924. In 1929 he was given a permanent position as illustrator in ''Stavanger Aftenblad''. He worked here until his death. He also illustrated covers for books by Per Thomsen and Theodor Dahl among others.
