Theo Dunne
Thomas "Theo" Dunne (22 February 1937 – 12 February 2023) was an Irish footballer who played for Shelbourne in the League of Ireland. He also managed UCD for over 20 years. Playing career A boyhood fan of Shamrock Rovers, Dunne was overlooked by the club before joining Home Farm after a successful trial. Tiring of the travel to play for Home Farm, he was playing locally before joining the Shelbourne B team. A successful debut against Drumcondra resulted in Dunne being called up to Shelbourne's first team. Dunne's Shelbourne career yielded a League of Ireland title in 1962 and two FAI Cup medals in 1960 and 1963 when he captained the team. He subsequently captained Shelbourne in a European Cup Winners' Cup tie with Barcelona at Camp Nou. Richard Dunne
Richard Patrick Dunne (born 21 September 1979) is an Irish former footballer and current television pundit for BT Sport, who played as a defender. He made 431 Premier League appearances, including 253 for Manchester City. Dunne began his professional career at Everton. He later spent nearly a decade at Manchester City before joining Aston Villa in 2009. In July 2013, he signed for Queens Park Rangers. He has also played internationally for the Republic of Ireland from 2000 until 2014. With Ireland he was a member of the 2002 FIFA World Cup squad and played in UEFA Euro 2012. Dunne announced his retirement from football in November 2015 after being released by Queens Park Rangers. The Leinster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Leinster Football Association. It is currently contested by LFA affiliated League of Ireland clubs, Leinster Senior League Senior Division clubs and invited teams from the various LFA affiliated junior leagues. Before the introduction of the FAI Cup, it was considered the major cup competition for clubs in what is now the Republic of Ireland.
