Themi Antonoglou (born June 2, 2001) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer. Early life Antonoglou began his youth career with West Toronto SC, where he was scouted by Toronto FC Academy coach Danny Dichio. He debuted for the senior academy team, Toronto FC III in League1 Ontario on September 18, 2018 against Vaughan Azzurri. He is of Greek descent. Career While with Toronto FC Academy, he made his debut with Toronto FC II in USL League One in 2019 against the Richmond Kickers. He officially joined Toronto FC II, signing his first professional contract in July 2020. The Philadelphia Union are an American professional soccer club based in Chester, Pennsylvania. The Union compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. 2020 Canadian Championship
The 2020 Canadian Championship was the thirteenth edition of Canada's national soccer cup tournament, awarding the Voyageurs Cup. It was held as a final between one representative each from Major League Soccer and the Canadian Premier League. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, a larger knockout tournament was to be held from June 16 to September 24, 2020, between twelve teams. The twelve teams originally planned to participate were the three MLS clubs, seven Canadian Premier League clubs, and the champions of League1 Ontario and Première ligue de soccer du Québec. The city of Ottawa had looked to be absent for the first time since 2013, with Ottawa Fury FC having suspended operations in late 2019, and Atlético Ottawa having joined the Canadian Premier League after the original draw had been finalized. MLS Next Pro is a men's professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that is affiliated with Major League Soccer. It launched in 2022 with 21 teams and will expand to 28 in 2023. The league comprises 27 reserve sides for MLS clubs and the independent Rochester New York FC. MLS Next Pro is classified as part of the third tier of the United States soccer league system. 2021 Toronto FC II Season
The 2021 Toronto FC II season was the seventh season in the club's history and sixth in play. The club returned to competition in USL League One after withdrawing from the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in Canada, Toronto FC II would begin the season playing home matches in the United States, playing their first three home matches at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Arizona before relocating to Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. They were able to return to playing home matches in Toronto on July 30. The 2018 Men's League1 Ontario season was the fifth season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 men's soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario.
