Thelma Robinson
Thelma Robinson (May 9, 1913 – May 2, 1965) was an American film and television writer active from the 1940s through the 1960s. Her credits include films like ''Up Goes Maisie'' and ''Undercover Maisie''. Biography Thelma Merle Snider was born in Keokuk, Iowa, to Willis Snider and Sylvia Wilcox. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Hamilton Robinson, whose last name she took on. She spent much of her childhood in Huntington Beach, California. Robinson began working on screenplays in Hollywood by the mid-1940s; her first credit was on 1946's ''Up Goes Maisie'', directed by Harry Beaumont. She also wrote the follow-up film, ''Undercover Maisie'', and later contributed to 1952's ''Because of You''. In the 1950s, after marrying writer-producer George Haight (with whom she had collaborated previously), she concentrated on television, writing episodes of shows like ''Lassie'', ''National Velvet'', and ''Fireside Theatre''. Keokuk, Iowa
Keokuk is a city in and a county seat of Lee County, Iowa, United States, along with Fort Madison. It is Iowa's southernmost city. The population was 9,900 at the time of the 2020 census. ''Undercover Maisie'' is a 1947 American comedy film directed by Harry Beaumont and starring Ann Sothern, Barry Nelson, and Mark Daniels. Harry Beaumont
Harry Beaumont (10 February 1888 – 22 December 1966) was an American film director, actor, and screenwriter. He worked for a variety of production companies including 20th Century Fox, Fox, Goldwyn Pictures Corporation, Goldwyn, Metro Pictures Corporation, Metro, Warner Brothers, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Career Beaumont's greatest successes were during the silent film era, when he directed films including John Barrymore's ''Beau Brummel (1924 film), Beau Brummel'' (1924) and the silent youth movie ''Our Dancing Daughters'' (1928), featuring Joan Crawford. He then directed MGM's first talkie musical, ''The Broadway Melody'' (1929). ''Four Star Playhouse'' is an American anthology series that ran from 1952 to 1956. Four Star Playhouse was owned by Four Star International. Its episodes ranged anywhere from surreal mysteries, such as "The Man on the Train", to light comedies, such as "The Lost Silk Hat". The original premise was that Charles Boyer, Ida Lupino, David Niven, and Dick Powell would take turns starring in episodes. However, several other performers took the lead from time to time, including Ronald Colman and Joan Fontaine. The show was sponsored in its first bi-weekly season by The Singer Company. Bristol-Myers became an alternate sponsor when it became a weekly series in the fall of 1953 (both sponsors' names alternated as part of the show's title in its initial broadcasts).
