Thee Mr. Duran Show
Thee Mr. Duran Show is a variety television show. The show is hosted by Richard Duran, and currently films at the LVTV Channel 3 Studio on the campus of the University of La Verne in La Verne, California. Episodes premiere live online at the show's official website, in addition to airing on Public-access television cable TV Channel 3 in the La Verne and San Dimas area, in select viewing areas on Time Warner Cable. The show originally debuted at East L.A. Community Television (formerly Buenavision Cable) in November 2000, before relocating to KCAT in March 2004, whose studio was located on the campus of Glen A. Wilson High School. Thee Mr. Duran Show made its debut on LVTV in October 2009, following the closing of the KCAT Television operations in March 2009. Thee Mr. Duran Show routinely features one live band, performing for approximately 30 minutes, and one to two speaking guests. The eighth season of ''American Idol'' premiered on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, and concluded on May 20, 2009. Judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson continued to judge the show's contestants, along with Ryan Seacrest as host. The season introduced Kara DioGuardi as the fourth judge on the ''Idol'' panel. It was also Abdul's final season as a judge. Redbone is an American rock music, rock band founded in 1969 by brothers Pat Vegas, Pat and Lolly Vegas. Tierra is an American Latin R&B band, originally from Los Angeles, California, United States, that was first established in 1972 by former El Chicano members Rudy Salas (guitar) and his brother Steve Salas (vocals). The other original members were Bobby Loya , Bobby Navarrete ( reeds), Joey Guerra (keyboards), Steve Falomir (bass guitar), Philip Madayag (drums), and Andre Baeza (percussion). Thee Midniters
Thee Midniters were an American rock group, among the first Chicano rock bands to have a major hit in the United States. They were one of the best known acts to come out of East Los Angeles in the 1960s, with a cover of "Land of a Thousand Dances" in 1964 and the instrumental track "Whittier Boulevard" in 1965. Thee Midniters were among the first rock acts to openly sing about Chicano themes in songs such as "Chicano Power" and "The Ballad of César Chávez" in the late 1960s. Lonnie Jordan
Leroy Jordan (born November 21, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter. He is a founding member of the American funk band War. Jordan had a number of roles over the years, acting as vocalist and playing guitar, piano, synthesizer, and percussion. He was among the first three people to join the group after its inception, having joined before the group adopted the name "War" (it had previously been known as "the Creators" and "Nightshift"), as well as being the group's only remaining original member. Dick Hugg
James "Dick" Hugg (also known as "Huggy Boy") (June 9, 1928 – August 30, 2006) was a radio disc jockey in Los Angeles, California. Rock and Roll Hugg was the first white disc jockey to broadcast (on station KRKD) from the front window of John Dolphin's popular all-night record store, Dolphin's of Hollywood, at the corner of Central and Vernon Avenues. He also co-produced several artists, such as vocalist Jesse Belvin and saxophonist Joe Houston, on Dolphin's various record labels, including Cash and Money. With his own record label, Caddy Records, Hugg recorded local favorites Jim Balcom, Jeanette Baker, Chuck Higgins and Johnny Flamingo.
