Theatre Surjya
The Theatre Surjya ( as, থিয়েটাৰ সূৰ্য্য) is a new mobile theatre group of the North-Eastern Indian state of Assam, founded by Munindra Barman in 2015. It was launched in a big way in 2015-16 season. The main actors which were signed for the 2015-16 season are Tapan Das, Chinmoy Kotoky, Rajkumar, Devismita and Bhranti Medhi. For 2016-17 season famous actor Jatin Bora Jatin Bora (born 25 April 1970) is an Indian actor and director who has appeared in Assamese language films since 1989. Sarthebari
Sarthebari (IPA:ˌsɑ:θəˈbɑ:rɪ) is a town and a town area committee in Bajali district in the Indian state of Assam. Sarthebari is home to the bell metal industry, the second largest handicraft of assam after bamboo craft. Mobile Theatre
Mobile Theatre (), is a form of popular theatre exclusive to Assam. Unlike Street plays, Mobile Theatre groups travel from place to place with their cast, singers, musicians, dancers and crew, often carrying tents and seating with them. History The Kohinoor Opera was the first mobile theatre group of Assam, founded by Natyacharya Brajanath Sarma, in 1930. Tapan Das
Tapan Das (11 January 1962) is an Indian film actor, director and story writer in Assamese cinema and mobile theatre. He also performs in stage plays. Early life Das was born on 11 January 1962 in Guwahati. He has been associated with acting since early 80s when he was in high school. His father was an officer at PWD department in Assam, was frequently transferred from one place to another. So he had studied in different schools of Assam. He studied in the prestigious Assam Engineering College, as said by himself in an Interview. He became a popular actor by doing various stage plays in Guwahati. Jatin Bora
Jatin Bora (born 25 April 1970) is an Indian actor and director who has appeared in Assamese language films since 1989. He is also an actor and director in some mobile theatre groups of Assam, including Aabahan, Hengool, Ashirbaad, Bhagyadevi, Kohinoor, Itihas and Surjya. Early life Jatin Bora was born to Sri Gakul Chandra Bora and Premolata Bora, in Kacholukhowa village, Nagaon, Assam. He did his primary schooling in Marikalang Prathamik Vidyalaya. As a child he used to take part in Navajyoti Sangha Maina Parijat, a weekly children's cultural meet, near his village. The culture of Assam is traditionally a hybrid one, developed due to cultural assimilation of different ethno-cultural groups under various political-economic systems in different periods of its history.
