The Wreaking
''The Wreaking'' is the third EP by Canadian grindcore band Fuck the Facts. The EP was released on November 29, 2008, via the band's MySpace page and was strictly limited to 19 copies. When the 7" vinyl copies of the split with Pleasant Valley were sold out, there were still some copies of the sleeve, so the band created this EP. It comprises songs from a few different sources. The first two tracks are pre-production versions of songs found on '' Stigmata High-Five''. They were originally released on vinyl splits with Mesrine and Pleasant Valley. The other songs are live songs originally intended to be released on a split with Mincing Fury on Burning Dogma Records, however, the owner of the label went to jail before it could be released. "Taken From The Nest" and "The Wreaking" were recorded in Ottawa by Matt Connell in October and November 2005 respectively. Fuck The Facts
Fuck the Facts is a Canadian Juno-nominated, grindcore band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, formed in 1998. They began as the solo recording project of musician Topon Das. Their earliest recording was in January 1997; they began using the name Fuck the Facts in 1998. After many early recordings, including split tapes with groups from around the world, Fuck the Facts began developing a name in the underground with fans of grind. In 2001, the first full-length CD-R, ''Discoing the Dead'', was recorded. The same year, Das would assemble a full band to continue with the project. The band has since coined the terms "bastardized grindcore" and "mullet-core" to describe their sound. Grindcore is an extreme fusion genre of heavy metal and hardcore punk that originated in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from abrasive-sounding musical styles, such as thrashcore, crust punk, hardcore punk, extreme metal, and industrial. Grindcore is considered a more noise-filled style of hardcore punk while using hardcore's trademark characteristics such as heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdriven bass, high-speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of growls, shouts and high-pitched shrieks. Disgorge Mexico
''Disgorge Mexico'' is the eighth album by Canadian grindcore band Fuck the Facts. It is their second album on Relapse Records from a three-album contract with the label. The instruments were recorded from the 6th to the 17th of August 2007 at Liverpool Court Studios in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The vocals were recorded in November 2007 at Fuck the Facts own home studio (The Tower of Self Medication Studio). The album was mixed and mastered at CB Audio in Winnipeg from December 2007 until March 2008. An enhanced portion of the CD includes a story accounting the events leading up to the writing of the album. There is also a video, "High Street," which was created by David Hall (who also directed the video for "The Sound of Your Smashed Head") which features music by the band. Unnamed EP
''Unnamed EP'' is the fourth EP by Canadian grindcore band Fuck the Facts. The EP was released on vinyl on February 21, 2010, and digitally on February 28, 2010. The EP is limited to 500 copies on vinyl (400 on black, 100 on clear), and is also available as a digital download. In 2014 the band found some extra covers leftover from the vinyl, rather than throw them out they decided to burn the ep to CD-Rs and sell them via Facebook. Only 7 were made. Stigmata High-Five
''Stigmata-High Five'' is the seventh full-length album by the Canadian grindcore band Fuck the Facts released August 20, 2006. It is the band's first release on Relapse Records. ''Stigmata High-Five'' is also the first recording to feature Mathieu Vilandré on drums. He had joined the band as a second guitarist in 2005 and took over drumming duties after Tim Olsen was asked to leave the band. In January 2006 it was announced that ''Stigmata High-Five'' would be released on Great White North Records in May of that year. The Collection of Splits 2002-2004, which was slated for a February release, was pushed back until late May, and ended up being the final release on Great White North Records before it folded. Mesrine
Jacques Mesrine (; 28 December 1936 – 2 November 1979) was a French criminal responsible for numerous murders, bank robberies, burglaries, and kidnappings in France, the US, and Canada. Mesrine repeatedly escaped from prison and made international headlines during a final period as a fugitive when his exploits included trying to kidnap the judge who had previously sentenced him. An aptitude for disguise earned him the moniker "The Man of a Thousand Faces" and enabled him to remain at large while receiving massive publicity as a wanted man. Exhumed (band)
Exhumed is an American death metal band from San Jose, California that is currently signed to Relapse Records and centered around guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey. The band has released eight albums and eight split 7-inch singles. They were formed in 1990, went on hiatus in 2005, and reformed in 2010. Background Early history (1990–2000) Exhumed formed in 1990, when founding member Matt Harvey was 15 years old. Exhumed spent much of the ensuing decade releasing numerous demos, split CDs, and EPs. Harvey explained that he was influenced by Carcass, Impetigo, Repulsion and Terrorizer as well as early albums by Entombed. The band recorded their debut album '' Gore Metal'' in 1998. Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist).
