The Working Hour
The Working Hour is an alternative rock/power pop band originally from Indianapolis, IN led by members Andrew Riesmeyer and Peter Doherty. The duo met in middle school and started making music shortly thereafter. The name "The Working Hour" is the name of a Tears for Fears song and serves as a tribute to one of the band's earlier influences. The band's debut album ''Unbreakable'' was produced by Paul Mahern and features indie-rock musicians Vess Ruhtenberg of The Lemonheads and The Pieces, Andy York of John Mellencamp's band, Courtney Kaiser and producer Ken Rose. Americana and piano pop are also heard in The Working Hour's sound. Power Pop
Power pop (also typeset as powerpop) is a form of pop rock based on the early music of bands such as the Who, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Byrds. It typically incorporates melodic hooks, vocal harmonies, an energetic performance, and cheerful sounding music underpinned by a sense of yearning, longing, or despair. The sound is primarily rooted in pop and rock traditions of the early to mid-1960s, although some acts have occasionally drawn from later styles such as punk, new wave, glam rock, pub rock, college rock, and neo-psychedelia. Originating in the 1960s, power pop developed mainly among American musicians who came of age during the British Invasion. Jack's Mannequin was an American rock band formed in 2004, hailing from Orange County, California. The band originally began as a solo project for Andrew McMahon, the frontman of Something Corporate. The band was signed to Maverick Records and released '' Everything in Transit'' in August 2005, peaking at 37 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''The Glass Passenger'' was released in 2008 on Sire Records, sold 49,000 copies in its first week, and peaked at number eight on the ''Billboard'' 200. '' People and Things'' was released October 4, 2011. Hanson is an American Pop music, pop band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, vocals, bass, piano), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Zac Hanson (drums, vocals, piano). Rooney is the primary musical project of singer-songwriter Robert Schwartzman, evolving from its origin as an American rock band formed by high school friends in Los Angeles. WCRD (91.3 FM) is a non-commercial radio station operated by students of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. The station is operated out of the David Letterman Communication and Media Building on the Ball State University campus. History WCRD was licensed as WWHI on October 15, 1950. It was the radio station of Wilson Junior High School. It broadcast on 91.5 MHz with 10 watts. The power was increased in 1968 beyond the original 10 watts. In 1971, the station, including its transmitter tower, was transferred to Muncie Southside High School. Five years later, an allocation change affecting various FM stations in the Muncie area resulted in a move to 91.3.
