''The Wooing of Eve'' or ''Journey into Adventure'' (german: Die Fahrt ins Abenteuer) is a 1926 German silent film directed by Max Mack and starring Ossi Oswalda, Willy Fritsch and Agnes Esterhazy. The film's sets were designed by the art director Rudi Feld. It was shot at the Weissensee Studios in Berlin. Max Mack
Max Mack (1884–1973) was a German screenwriter, film producer and director during the silent era. He is particularly known for his 1913 film ''The Other''. He directed, and co-starred in, an early film adaptation of ''Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'' in 1914, called ''Ein Seltsamer Fall'', written by Richard Oswald. During the 1910s, he directed nearly a hundred films in a variety of different genres.Elsaesser & Wedel p.205 Born as Moritz Myrthenzweig in Halberstadt, the Jewish Mack was later forced to emigrate to escape Nazism, and settled in the United Kingdom. Rudi Feld
Rudi Feld (1896–1994) was a German art director and set designer who worked for many years in the United States. Germany Feld was born Rudi Feilchenfeld in Berlin, the elder brother of the actor Fritz Feld. He served in the German army during World War I and then began his early career designing posters for revue and cabaret shows, before graduating to creating film sets. Feld worked in the German film industry during the boom years of the late silent era. He was employed by the German Major studio UFA as head of advertising.Ward p.193 He designed the exterior displays of the flagship UFA cinema Ufa-Palast am Zoo for each new premiere. Exile Following the Nazi rise to power in 1933, the Jewish Feld went into exile. Feld settled in Mandatory Palestine where he briefly owned a nightclub. Adolphe Engers (1884–1945) was a Dutch writer and actor on stage and in the movies, who appeared in more than fifty films during his career, a number of them in Weimar Germany. Biography Before his career in film, he was an actor on the stage and a writer. Warwick Ward
Warwick Ward (3 December 1891 – 9 December 1967) was an English actor of the stage and screen, and a film producer. He appeared in more than 60 films between 1919 and 1933. He also produced 19 films between 1931 and 1958. He was born in St. Ives, Cornwall. Ward was a popular leading man in silent films of the 1920s, although he also played villains. Ward cultivated a debonair but forceful air in his films. Having made his breakthrough in British productions, the Slump of 1924 dramatically reduced the number of British films being made. Ward increasingly appeared in Continental productions, particularly German films. His career gradually tailed-off with the arrival of sound film and he began a second career as a film producer.
