Robert Howard Ober (May 10, 1881 – December 7, 1950) was an American stage and silent-screen actor. Early life Robert Howard Ober was born on May 10, 1881, in Bunker Hill, Illinois, to parents Robert Howard Ober Sr. and Joella W. Ober (née Davis). He attended Divoll grade school in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. Career Ober started his theater career in St. Louis, Missouri at the Century Theatre. His first stage appearance was with the Colonel Hopkins Stock Company in the play ''In Mizzoura''. He also played in ''My Friend from India'' and ''Arizona''. He went on tour in the production of ''Madame X''. He then performed with the Harry Davis Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and then moved to New York City. Tenen Holtz
Tenen Holtz (born Alex Elihu Tenenholtz; February 17, 1887 – July 1, 1971) was an American actor. He appeared in nearly 60 films between 1926 and 1961. Biography Holtz was born in Imperial Russia, and came to the United States when he was seven years old. While he was in elementary school, he began working, but he pursued studies in evening high school to improve his language abilities. Jacob Pavlovich Adler observed Holtz performing in a school production and not only gave him a permanent pass to Adler's playhouse but also allowed him to attend rehearsals. His first appearance in amateur Yiddish theatre plays occurred in 1903 in the staged readings of the works of Yiddish author Sholom Aleichem. In July 1926, he went to California "to see what all these pictures were about", he said. His film debut came in ''Upstage''. Eugene Borden (born Élysée Eugène Prieur-Bardin, March 21, 1897 – July 2, 1971) was an American character actor in silent and sound films. Born in France, he immigrated to the United States as a teenager, and entered the film industry a short time later. He appeared in over 150 films, as well as shorts, serials, and television shows. Life and career Born in Paris, France, on March 21, 1897, Borden immigrated to the United States in 1914 at the age of 17. By 1917 he had entered the film industry, appearing in a featured role in Christy Cabanne's ''The Slacker''. Over the next 43 years, Borden appeared in 160 feature films, usually in uncredited roles, many of which were as characters do menial labor, such as headwaiters, porters, pursers and coachmen.
