The Woman Of Sin
''The Woman of Sin'' (Italian: ''La donna del peccato'') is a 1942 Italian drama film directed by Harry Hasso and starring Viveca Lindfors, Otello Toso and Gustav Diessl. It was one of two films Swedish actress Lindfors made in wartime Italy. It was shot at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome. The film's sets were designed by the art director Guido Fiorini.Chiti & Poppi p.110 Synopsis A shady adventurer persuades his wife to steal an important invention from an Engineer she has encountered on a train. However they quickly fall in love with each other and he asks her to marry him. Tormented by her dilemma she attempts to commit suicide, but is rescued in time. Harry Hasso
Harry Hasso (born Karl Hartnagel; 24 July 1904 – 11 July 1984) was a Swedish actor, cinematographer and film director. Hasso was born in Frankenthal, Germany. He worked in Sweden, Germany and Italy and for a short time in Finland as a cameraman and film director and he also wrote some of the music and manuscripts for some of the films he made. He learned to play the violin at a very young age and also played harmonica. He started his career in Luxembourg when was 16 years old. He started his own film company at age 18. He made many movies and at least 100 documentary films among them films about his home country and home town. All the documentaries he made have been missing since World War II. Occasionally he was an actor in some of his films. He also worked in a circus as an acrobat and according to himself his act there was to stand on one hand on a bottle that was placed on a chair. Giulio Panicali (February 17, 1899 – June 13, 1987) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Panicali was born in Turin to Oscar Panicali and Lidia Gazzeri. His father was a Bersaglieri colonel. He started his acting career on screen in 1934, appearing in nine films in total within 21 years. He has even performed acting work for the EIAR public service broadcasting company. Panicali was also a voice dubbing artist, dubbing foreign language films for release in Italy.
