The Wired CD
''The Wired CD'' is an album that was released in 2004 as a collaborative effort between ''Wired'' magazine, Creative Commons, and sixteen musicians and groups. ''The Wired CD'' was distributed inside the front cover of the November 2004 issue of ''Wired'', which also featured a variety of interviews and bios of the performers. Unusually, the songs were released under one of two Creative Commons Licenses, permitting sampling and file-sharing of the songs. The ''WIRED CD'' was the first major compilation of music free to sample and share under Creative Commons' "some rights reserved" copyright. Carlton Douglas Ridenhour (born August 1, 1960), known professionally as Chuck D, is an American rapper, best known as the leader and frontman of the hip hop group Public Enemy, which he co-founded in 1985 with Flavor Flav. Black Strobe
Black Strobe (sometimes Blackstrobe) is an electroclash group formed in Paris in 1997 by record producer Arnaud Rebotini and DJ Ivan Smagghe. They were instrumental in the rise of the electroclash movement in the UK with their breakthrough single "Me and Madonna". Originally producing in the house genre, they later became more influenced by music from the 1970s and 1980s, especially industrial post punk and European electronic body music. Matmos is an experimental electronic music duo originally from San Francisco but now residing in Baltimore. M. C. (Martin) Schmidt and Drew Daniel are the core members, but they frequently include other artists on their records and in their performances, including notably J Lesser. Apart from releasing twelve full-length studio albums and numerous collaborative works, Matmos is also well known for their collaboration with Icelandic singer and musician Björk, both on studio recordings and live tours. Helder Aragão, better known as DJ Dolores, is a Brazilian DJ. Helder Aragão was one of the participants of the mangue movement, as a designer. The crabs with brains that decorate the first release of the mangue movement were created by him. Thomas Smith, better known by his stage name Jemini the Gifted One, is a rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He has most notably worked with Danger Mouse on the 2003 album ''Ghetto Pop Life'', which features rappers such as The Pharcyde, Tha Alkaholiks, J-Zone, and Prince Po from Organized Konfusion.
