The White Dove (1960 Film)
''The White Dove'' ( cs, Holubice) is a 1960 Czechoslovak film directed by František Vláčil. It is Vláčil's first full-length film. Plot The film is based on the short story "Susanne" by Otakar Kirchner: a dove belongs to a German girl, Susanne. The dove gets lost on its way from France to the Baltic Sea and ends up in Prague. The dove is shot by a crippled boy, Michal. It is found by a sculptor, Martin, who brings it to Michal. Michal helps the dove to recover and he befriends Martin. Martin finds from where the dove comes and sends there a picture of the bird. Susanne, is sad from the dove's absence but realises that the dove will return. Michal recovers together with the dove but does not want to give her up. Martin eventually convinces Michal to release the dove. Gustav Püttjer (15 May 1886 – 11 August 1959) was a German film actor who appeared in around 150 feature films between 1927 and 1959. He largely played character parts. The Cartagena Film Festival ( es, Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias), or FICCI, is a film festival held in Cartagena, Colombia, which focuses mainly on the promotion of Colombian television series, Latin American films and short films. The Cartagena Film Festival, which is held every March, is the oldest film festival in Latin America. The Cartagena Film Festival was founded 1959 by Victor Nieto. Nieto remained the director of the film festival for 48 years, his last being in 2008. Nieto died at the age of 92 in November 2008. Lina Paola Rodriguez was appointed manager by Nieto in 2007 and 2008, and will remain acting director following Nieto's death.
