The Well-paid
''The Well-paid'' (in Spanish ''La bien pagada'') is a Mexican drama film directed by Alberto Gout. It was filmed in 1948 and starring María Antonieta Pons and Víctor Junco. Plot The billionaire Fernando Jordan (Victor Junco) marries Carola Rute (María Antonieta Pons). Carola becomes lover of Carlos. Fernando surprises together after reading a comment understood in a local newspaper that previously tried to extort him. After meditating the tremendous disappointment, he accepts that he made the mistake not to make her love during their brief marriage. He forced her to sign a letter waiving her rights as wife and jet off abroad for many years. María Antonieta Pons
Maria Antonieta Pons (November 6, 1922 in Havana, Cuba – August 20, 2004 in Mexico City) was a Cuban-born Mexican film actress and dancer. She was the first actress in the ''Rumberas films'' in the 1940s and 1950s, in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Career María Antonieta Pons began her career as a dancer in Cuba in numerous theaters and night clubs. When she was 16, she met Spanish actor and film director Juan Orol, who became her partner in various dance competitions on the island. After becoming Orol's wife, he took her to Mexico so she could act in films. María Antonieta Pons debuted in the Cinema of Mexico in the film '' Siboney'' (1938). María Blanca Estela Pavón Vasconcelos (February 21, 1926 – September 26, 1949) was a Mexican film actress and singer of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She appeared in many classic films of the 1940s as a young woman. Her career peaked between 1948 and 1949. On September 26, 1949, she died in a plane crash near the Popocatépetl volcano located between Mexico City and Puebla. She won an Ariel Award for Best Actress in the 1947 film '' Cuando lloran los valientes'' and was nominated for another due to her successful performances in Mexican films. Alex Phillips (cinematographer)
Alexander Pelepiock (January 11, 1900 – June 14, 1977) was a Canadian-born Mexican cinematographer known for working in over 200 films, most of them during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. His most well-known works include '' The Other One'' (1946), '' Desired'' (1951), ''En La Palma de Tu Mano'' (1952), and '' Untouched'' (1955). Throughout his career, he was nominated fourteen times for an Ariel Award for Best Cinematography which he won twice for ''En La Palma de Tu Mano'' and '' Untouched''. In 1973, Phillips was recognized with a Golden Ariel from the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences for his excellence and contributions to the Mexican film industry.
