''The Weather in the Streets'' is a 1983 British romantic drama television film directed by Gavin Millar, written by Julian Mitchell, and starring Michael York, Lisa Eichhorn and Joanna Lumley. Adapted from the 1936 novel of the same title by Rosamond Lehmann, it originally premiered at the London Film Festival on 30 November 1983, before being broadcast on BBC Two on 12 February 1984. Isabel Dean (born Isabel Hodgkinson, 29 May 1918 – 27 July 1997) was an English stage, film and television actress. Life and career Born in Aldridge, Staffordshire, Dean studied painting at Birmingham Art School. In 1937, she joined the Cheltenham Repertory Company as a scenic artist. She was soon involved in acting with some small parts. She appeared on stage in London in Agatha Christie's ''Peril at End House'' in 1940. Christopher Robin Parkinson (25 October 1929 – 7 May 2022) was an English actor known for his comedy roles. He was the second actor to portray Monsieur Ernest Leclerc in '' 'Allo 'Allo!'' Rosie Ellen Celine Marcel (born 6 May 1977) is an English actress. Marcel is known for her role as Jac Naylor, consultant cardiothoracic surgeon lead in the BBC drama series ''Holby City'', a role she has also played in sister series ''Casualty''. John Quarmby (18 June 1929 – 5 April 2019) was an English character actor. Biography Quarmby was born in Liverpool and after two years' national service in the RAF joined RADA in 1949. Repertory work dominated the first twenty years of his career, although he began appearing in television in 1956.
