''The Ways of Sin'' (Italian: ''Le vie del peccato'') is a 1946 Italian historical melodrama film directed by Giorgio Pastina and starring Jacqueline Laurent, Leonardo Cortese and Carlo Ninchi. The film is a melodrama set in Sardinia at the beginning of the twentieth century. It is based on a novel by Grazia Deledda. Gualtiero Tumiati
Gualtiero Tumiati ( 8 May 1876 – 23 April 1971) was an Italian actor and stage director. Life and career Born in Ferrara, Tumiati studied at the College of the Oaks in Florence and there he attended the acting courses held by Luigi Rasi. He later graduated in law and while working as an apprentice lawyer at his father's law firm he started performing in some local stage companies. Tumiati's breakout role was Cyrano de Bergerac in a critically acclaimed representation of the Edmond Rostand's eponymous play held in 1910. With his wife, the actress and painter Beryl Hight, in 1928 Tumiati founded the "Sala Azzurra" ("Blue Room"), one of the first Avant-garde theaters in Italy. He taught acting at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica in Rome and at the Accademia dei filodrammatici in Milan. Giuseppe Porelli (24 November 1897 – 5 March 1982) was an Italian stage, film and television actor. Life and career Born Giuseppe Porcelli in Naples, he graduated from the Istituto Tecnico and became an employee of Ferrovie dello Stato. While there, he spent his free time involved in amateur dramatics. In 1918 he left his job to accept employment as a professional actor in the company of Irma Gramatica. Porelli later entered some of the most important stage companies of the time, specializing as a sidekick in revue shows. Active on films since 1926, he had an intense career as a character actor, mostly cast in roles of elegant and fashionable gentlemen in comedy films. He was married to the actress Rinalda Marchetti.
