The Voice South Africa
''The Voice South Africa'' is a South African reality singing competition and local version of ''The Voice'' first broadcast as ''The Voice of Holland''. Its first season started on 31 January 2016 and proved to be a hit on M-Net. The second season started on 5 February 2017 on the same channel. The third season premiered on 3 February 2019. A fourth season was set for 2020, but has been postponed to a later stage due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the talents in their group and occasionally perform with them. Talents are selected in blind auditions, where the coaches cannot see, but only hear the auditioner. The original coaching panel of the show consists of Kahn Morbee, Lira, Bobby van Jaarsveld, and Karen Zoid. Lungile Radu and Stacy Norman were the original hosts. Nianell
Nianell (born September 25, 1971 as Sonia Aletta Nel in Omaruru, Namibia) is a singer, pianist, guitarist, and composer. Biography After growing up in Windhoek, Nianell graduated with a three-year diploma in light music from Pretoria Technikon in South Africa. She studied classical music at Trinity College in London and at the University of South Africa. She has a four-octave vocal range and her songs have been described as including "elements of folk, pop, R&B, country, classic and even Celtic music." M-Net Original Programming
M-Net (an abbreviation of Electronic Media Network) is a South African pay television channel established by Naspers in 1986. The channel broadcasts both local and international programming, including general entertainment, children's series, sport and movies. Ami Faku
Amanda Faku (born May 28, 1993) is a South African singer, performer and songwriter. Born and raised in the township of eZinyoka, Port Elizabeth. Faku rose to fame as a contestant on The Voice SA season 2 in 2017 and prior getting recognition in the music industry. After she signed a record deal with The Vth Season, Ami released her debut studio album ''Imali'' (2019), debuted number one in South Africa. ''The Voice South Africa'' is a South African television music competition to find new singing talent. The first season began airing on 31 January 2016 on M-Net. The season is hosted by Lungile Radu with Stacy Norman as the V-Reporter, and are joined by coaches Kahn Morbee, Lira, Bobby van Jaarsveld, and Karen Zoid. Khaya Mthethwa
Khaya Mthethwa (born 25 November 1987) is a South African singer-songwriter, musician, composer, arranger, and a multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for winning the 8th season of TV singing competition ''Idols South Africa'', the first black person to have done so. He is also known as a choir member of the gospel group Joyous Celebration , popular both in South Africa across Africa. Jan Adriaan Hoogendyk (born 28 December 1979), known professionally as Elvis Blue, is a South African musician and songwriter. Early life Jan Hoogendyk was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. Hoogendyk is a self-taught musician, teaching himself to play the guitar at the age of 16. During his adolescent years, he started writing his own music and gained experience as a busker on the streets of Johannesburg.
