The Voice Kids (Arabic TV Series)
''The Voice Kids: Ahla Sawt'' is an Arabic TV series airing on MBC 1 and MBC 3. It premiered on 2 January 2016. The three judges for the inaugural season were Tamer Hosny, Nancy Ajram and Kadim Al Sahir. There are four stages starting with the Blind Auditions. Contestants between the ages of 7 and 14 sing covers of already existing songs without being seen by the judges. If a coach likes the contestant's performance, they turn their chair. Each coach is allowed to have 15 contestants on their team. The season 1 finale was on 5 March 2016 and the winning contestant was Lynn Al-Hayek from Lebanon from Team Kathem Al-Saher. The season 2 finale was on 3 February 2018, and the winner was Hamza Lebyed from Morocco from Team Kathem Al-Saher. The season 3 finale was on 7 March 2020 and the winner was Mohamed Islam from Syria from Team Nancy Ajram. As of 2022, the broadcaster has yet to announce plans for a fourth season. MBC 3 is a free-to-air children's channel launched on 8 December 2004, and appeals to children under the age of 15. All foreign television animated programs have been dubbed into Arabic. The channel also produces its own original programmes. It was owned by the Middle Eastern company MBC Group. MBC 3 started airing Nickelodeon shows following the closure of Nickelodeon Arabia in 2011. It includes Nicktoons such as ''T.U.F.F. Puppy'', ''The Fairly OddParents'' and ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' are also present in the channel, but they are dubbed. It is based on the reality singing competition ''The Voice of Holland'', which was originally created by Dutch producer John de Mol and Dutch singer Roel van Velzen. Murr Television, marketed and known as MTV Lebanon, is a Lebanese television station based in Naccache, Metn District. History Founded in 1991 by Gabriel Murr, a Lebanese businessman and politician. MTV was shut down in 2002 as it was found guilty of violating article 68 of the electoral law of 1999 which bans propaganda during the election process but, since other Lebanese channels did not comply with the law either, some observers suspect that the closure was due to MTV’s criticism of the Lebanese government and of Syria.
