''The Video Show'' (a.k.a. ''The Cinema Show: A Video Anthology'') is a DVD by British band Genesis. Released on 29 November 2004 in the UK and 13 September 2005 in North America, it compiles music videos from their earliest, three videos filmed for the ''A Trick of the Tail'' album in 1976, to their latest, the video for " The Carpet Crawlers 1999", filmed in 1999. Similar to the '' Platinum Collection'' compilation album, which was released on the same day, the track listing begins at the ''We Can't Dance'' album and goes backwards in time before jumping to post-''We Can't Dance'' material, which appears at the end of the track listing going forwards in time. While the DVD's packaging says "The Video Show", the introduction to the DVD menu says "The Cinema Show: A Video Anthology", indicating that the name was changed after the DVD was finalised. Genesis (band)
Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. The 1970s line-up, featuring singer Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, was among the pioneers of progressive rock. The group were formed by five Charterhouse pupils, including Banks, Rutherford, Gabriel, and Anthony Phillips, and named by former Charterhouse pupil Jonathan King, who arranged for them to record several singles and their debut album ''From Genesis to Revelation'' in 1968. After splitting from King, the band began touring, signed with Charisma Records and became a progressive rock band on ''Trespass'' (1970). "I Can't Dance" is the fourth track from English rock band Genesis's fourteenth studio album, '' We Can't Dance'' (1991), and was released in December 1991 as the second single from the album. The lyrics were written by drummer Phil Collins and the music was written by the whole band. The song peaked at number seven on both the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart, and also received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals in 1993. In Europe, the song reached number one in Belgium and the Netherlands, while peaking within the top five in Austria, Germany, and Portugal. ''Genesis'' is the twelfth studio album by English rock band Genesis, released on 3 October 1983 by Charisma and Virgin Records in the UK and by Atlantic Records in the US and Canada. Following the band's tour in support of their 1982 live album '' Three Sides Live'', Genesis took an eight-month break before they regrouped in the spring of 1983 to record a new album. "Anything She Does" is a song by the British band Genesis. It appears as the fifth track on their highly successful 1986 album ''Invisible Touch'', opening the second side of the vinyl and cassette editions. The lyrics were written by their keyboardist Tony Banks. Lyrically, the song is about a man who is in love with a pin-up girl. He feels the pain that he can never have a relationship with her in real life, instead of his imagination. AllMusic has described the song's words as "a humorous look at pin-up models". The brass sound in the song is played on an E-mu Emulator II by Banks. The sample itself is taken from a horn chart of one of the band's previous songs, " Paperlate", which featured the Earth, Wind & Fire horn section. "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" is the second track on the 1986 album ''Invisible Touch'' by Genesis, released in March 1987 as the fourth single from the album. It peaked at No. 3 in the US and No. 18 in the UK. The working title was "Monkey, Zulu". The single included an edited version (at 4:32) and the first part of "Domino" ("In the Glow of the Night") as the B-side.
