The Unfaithful Eckehart (1940 Film)
''The Unfaithful Eckehart'' (german: Der ungetreue Eckehart) is a 1940 German comedy film directed by Hubert Marischka and starring Hans Moser, Hedwig Bleibtreu and Lucie Englisch. It is based on Hans Stürm's play of the same title, which had previously been made into a 1928 film and a 1931 film. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Gabriel Pellon and Heinrich Richter. Hubert Marischka
Hubert Marischka (27 August 1882 – 4 December 1959), brother of Ernst Marischka, was an Austrian operetta tenor, actor, film director and screenwriter. Career Marischka was born in Brunn am Gebirge, the son of Jiří (or Johann) Marischka, a supplier to the court of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, and his wife Bertha. Hubert began work as a joiner but trained as a singer and in 1904 began a new career in operetta in the town theatre of St. Pölten in ''Der arme Jonathan'' by Karl Millöcker. He had his first success as a singer in Brünn in 1906, as Danilo in ''Die lustige Witwe''. On 27 July 1907 he sang at the premiere of the '' Der fidele Bauer'' by Leo Fall in Mannheim. Franz Fiedler (actor)
Franz Fiedler (17 February 1885 in Prostějov, Austria-Hungary – 5 February 1956 in Dresden, GDR) was a photographer. Fiedler was born in Prostějov, near Olomouc in Moravia. Fiedler was a pupil of Hugo Erfurth. He was regarded as an eccentric during his apprenticeship in Pilsen, and worked in 1905 and again in 1912 with Rudof Dührkoop in Hamburg, and from 1908 to 1911 with Hugo Erfurth in Dresden. At the 1911 world exhibition in Turin he won first prize and had another exhibition in Prague in 1913. He belonged to the circle of Jaroslav Hašek and Egon Erwin Kisch and in 1916 married Erna Hauswald in Dresden where he occupied a studio at Sedanstraße 7. Lotte Spira
Lotte Spira (; 24 April 1883 – 17 December 1943) was a German stage and film actress. She appeared in supporting roles in around seventy films. She was married to the Austrian actor Fritz Spira in 1905. In 1934 she divorced her Jewish husband under duress from the Nazi authorities. During the Second World War she signed a statement swearing Spira was not the real father of her daughter Camilla Spira, who was being held at Westerbork transit camp in the Netherlands.Baer p. 118 Shortly after Lotte Spira received news of her ex-husband's death in a concentration camp in Yugoslavia, she died of natural causes, aged 60.
