The Umbrella Academy
''The Umbrella Academy'' is an American comic book series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. The first six-issue limited series, '' The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite,'' was released by Dark Horse Comics between September 14, 2007, and February 20, 2008. It won the 2008 Eisner Award for Best Finite Series/Limited Series. A second series, '' The Umbrella Academy: Dallas'', followed in 2008. After a hiatus the series returned in 2018 with '' The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion'' released between October 3, 2018, and June 12, 2019. A television adaptation premiered on Netflix in February 2019. In 2019, Dark Horse Comics signed a collaboration with Studio71 to make a card game based on ''The Umbrella Academy''. ''Grendel'' is a long-running series of comic books originally created by American author Matt Wagner. First published in 1982 by Comico, Wagner later moved publication of the series to Dark Horse. Originally a noir comic in the style of European titles such as ''Diabolik'', it has evolved into, in Wagner's words, a study of the nature of aggression. In 2009, Hunter Rose (the first Grendel) was ranked as IGN's 88th-greatest villain of all time. Overview Grendel was the masked identity of Hunter Rose, a successful author. Edvin Biuković (22 June 1969 – 5 December 1999) was a Croatian comics artist. Biography Biuković made his debut in 1987 with the strip ''Dokaz'' published in the third issue of Croatian magazine ''Patak''. He spent several more years working on comic projects in Croatia and collaborated with his good friend Darko Macan on the pages of German magazine '' Gespenster Geschichten''. Most of those stories were later translated to Croatian (and collected into one volume titled '' Citati''), as well as English (reprinted in various issues of Caliber's ''Negative Burn''). His big break came in 1994 when Dark Horse published '' Grendel Tales: Devils and Deaths'', his another collaboration with Macan. Doom Patrol is a superhero team from DC Comics. The original Doom Patrol first appeared in ''My Greatest Adventure'' #80 (June 1963), and was created by writers Arnold Drake and Bob Haney, along with artist Bruno Premiani.
