''The Troubleshooters'' is the third studio album by the Los Angeles-based Latin hip hop group Funkdoobiest, released in 1998. It was the group's first album without Tomahawk Funk. Unlike their previous two albums, there is no production by their mentor DJ Muggs. "Papi Chulo" features Tha Dogg Pound member Daz Dillinger. Critical reception The ''Hartford Courant'' noted "the relative lack of filler and the DJ Ralph M.'s original approach to samples." Funkdoobiest was an American hip hop group from Los Angeles, California, United States, composed of rappers Jason "Son Doobie" Vasquez, Tyrone "Tomahawk Funk" Pacheco and DJ Ralph "Tha Phunky Mexican" Medrano. They are members of the Soul Assassins collective. The group has released four studio albums. Their third LP, ''The Troubleshooters'', was recorded and released without any participation of Tomahawk Funk due to his departure from the group. The group's most successful hit single, "Bow Wow Wow" from their debut album ''Which Doobie U B?'', peaked at number 89 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart in the United States. They appeared in the soundtrack to Allison Anders' 1994 film ''Mi Vida Loca'' with the song "The Good Hit". The song "Superhoes" from their second album ''Brothas Doobie'' was featured in the soundtrack to F. Gary Gray's 1995 film ''Friday''. Newcleus was an American electro and old school hip hop group that gained popularity in the early 1980s. The group is primarily known for its 12-inch single "Jam-On's Revenge" (re-released as "Jam on Revenge (The Wikki-Wikki Song)" (1983)) and "Jam on It" (1984), which began as an anti-rap joke, according to founding member DJ and producer Ben Cenac. James Brown
James Joseph Brown (May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006) was an American singer, dancer, musician, record producer and bandleader. The central progenitor of funk music and a major figure of 20th century music, he is often referred to by the honorific nicknames "the Hardest Working Man in Show Business", "Godfather of Soul", "Mr. Dynamite", and "Soul Brother No. 1". "Get Up, Get into It, Get Involved" is a funk song recorded by James Brown. It was released as a two-part single in 1970 and charted #4 R&B and #34 Pop. It features backing vocals by Bobby Byrd, who shared writing credit for the song with Brown and Ron Lenhoff. This was one of several songs by Brown with an upfront social message. Squirrel Nut Zippers is an American swing and jazz band formed in 1993 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, by Jimbo Mathus, James "Jimbo" Mathus (vocals and guitar), Tom Maxwell (singer), Tom Maxwell (vocals and guitar), Katharine Whalen (vocals, banjo, ukulele), Chris Phillips (drums), Don Raleigh (bass guitar), and Ken Mosher. David Anthony Willis, known professionally as Ski Beatz, is an American record producer from Greensboro, North Carolina, mainly working in hip hop. Gloria Rodríguez (1970 – November 6, 2022), better known by her stage name Hurricane G, was an American rapper of Puerto Rican descent. Her 1997 single release "Somebody Else" charted at #10 by Billboard Magazine on Hot Rap Singles, and at #54 on their Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Biography Rodríguez was born in Brooklyn, New York City in 1970. She was the Hit Squad's first female member, and made guest appearances on albums by Keith Murray, Redman, Xzibit, Delinquent Habits, Funkdoobiest, the Cocoa Brovaz, and others. The Regime (stylized as The ReGime) is an American hip hop collective created by Yukmouth in 1997, and originally included fellow rappers Tech N9ne, Phats Bossi, Madmax, Poppa LQ, Dizzle Don and Govnormatic. Brian Anthony Bailey (born September 14, 1974), best known under his stage name Hittman (acronym for ''Highly Intense Tongue Talents Make All Nervous''), is an American West Coast rapper, songwriter and record producer originating from Los Angeles, California.
